AMIR KHAN WOULD LOVE REMATCHES WITH DANNY GARCIA AND LAMONT PETERSON AT 147: "UNFINISHED BUSINESS WITH BOTH"

AMIR KHAN WOULD LOVE REMATCHES WITH DANNY GARCIA AND LAMONT PETERSON AT 147:

"Danny Garcia would be an amazing fight at 147. Obviously I know where I went wrong. It hurt me when I got beat by him because obviously it was the undisputed unification fight between me and him for all the belts. And also, with him being unbeaten, if he gets beaten, it's going to hurt him a lot having his first loss, so obviously I want to give him that same feeling that I had," stated former world champion Amir Khan, who made it clear that he's eager to get rematches against both Danny Garcia and Lamont Peterson if either fighter chooses to move up to the welterweight division. Although Khan admits that Garcia would be at the top of his list, he's not passing on an opportunity to exact revenge against either fighter. Check out what else he had to say!

AMIR KHAN ON REMATCHES WITH DANNY GARCIA AND LAMONT PETERSON AT 147:

I think Peterson and his team probably still admit that I beat him. At the end of the day, they're going to know that in the back of their mind. That's another good fight that I'd love to take myself because I know exactly what to do. One of the mistakes I was making against Peterson was standing there too long, whereas now, I have better footwork. I'm a better fighter under Virgil Hunter. I mean, both fighters, Garcia and Peterson, kind of suit my style now. I'm a better fighter now than I was before and I think they'll definitely suit me better now.

I mean, obviously I kind of had the blueprint to beat Garcia. I knew speed was going to cause him problems, movement was going to cause him problems, but then obviously I got too confident because I knew he had slow hands. One thing you have to take your hat off to Garcia about is that he's got great timing. He threw that left hook and, timing-wise, it was perfect. Even when he fought against Morales, same hook. Even against the other guy, Rod Salka, it was the same hook. So you have to give him the credit where it's due. He's got great timing. I blame myself in that fight because I never watched any videos of Garcia when I was fighting him. I thought, you know what, I'm going into a fight now against someone who I'm going to walk through. I didn't know anything about him. I just saw 2 or 3 rounds of the Morales fight and I thought, easy work.

I was supposed to fight Peterson for the rematch, but then he was caught taking Testosterone. If you look at it that way, Peterson, even though he admits being on Testosterone against me in that first fight, he still had put all that pressure on me and he was strong and he was always there, so maybe, in the back of my mind, there's always that as well. If he wasn't on any of that stuff, maybe it would have been easier to get away from him and I would've hurt him even more. I mean, I put him down twice in that fight. Maybe I would've got rid of him early in the fight, or maybe it was that stuff that kind of helped him. I mean, the punishment he took in that fight against me; you see his face against Garcia and obviously he was okay, but if you see his face when he fought me, he was bruised. It was black and blue; it was puffy all over. I hit him with everything I had and he was still there in front of me, so I have to say that was due to what he was taking.

So yeah, both fights, you know, there's a lot of unfinished business with both. But look, end of day, I've learned more off losing them fights than I would have if I won. If I beat Garcia or if I beat Peterson, I wouldn't be in this position I'm in now. I think it's made me overall a better boxer.
