AMIR MANSOUR GIVES EPIC TAKE ON MAYWEATHER VS. PACQUIAO AFTERMATH

"The Mayweather-Pacquiao fight as a whole, in my opinion as a boxer, it was promoted brilliantly. You can't never say something cost too much until you purchase it and try it out and then you can say, 'Okay this wasn't worth that much.' I thought it was worth the purchase because it was promoted brilliantly," stated heavyweight contender Amir Mansour, who shared his thoughts on the aftermath of the long-awaited Mayweather vs. Pacquiao mega-fight. Though some fans were disappointed in the lack of action and relative ease at which Mayweather scored a unanimous decision victory, Mansour believes the fight played out exactly how people should have expected. Check out what else he had to say!

AMIR MANSOUR ON MAYWEATHER VS. PACQUIAO AFTERMATH:

It was synchronized, it was orchestrated, it was planned perfectly and both of these men walked away with a lot of money. A lot of people were upset about the fight because, to be honest with you, Mayweather won the fight easily. People thought that Pacquiao was going to give Mayweather a better fight or a tougher fight. Like I said before and I said prior to the fight on my Facebook page, I said Mayweather was going to make this dude look like he was a nobody; e was going to meet him in the center of the ring and he was going to take it to Pacquiao. All of those shadowboxing videos, none of that stuff was going to mean anything when you trying to land it against Mayweather. Exactly what I said is exactly what happened.

We all know that the quickest route from point A to point B is a straight line. Pacquiao is more of a hooker type of puncher. He throws those punches in bunches, but they are not necessarily all straight punches. Floyd is a straight down the pike counter puncher. I also told people, and you can go to my Facebook page and check it a month ago, Floyd is faster than Pacquiao. I think that this guy is so genius and so brilliant at this fight game that he makes the top champions in his weight division look less than what they really are. It looks like he's never really faced nobody and they thought that Pacquiao was going to be the toughest competition that he had faced, but to be honest with you, I don't even think that Pacquiao can beat a handful of the champions that Floyd beat. Floyd has beat 19 world champions, man; come on. What did you expect when 5 people figured out how to beat Pacquiao?

And also, we've never seen Pacquiao adjust to a style. We've never seen Pacquiao make adjustments during a fight. We have always seen Pacquiao fight the same fight. We've seen Floyd surprise us over and over and over. People thought he was going to run against Canelo. He chased Canelo damn near the whole fight. He pressed the fight with Canelo. He met him in the center of the ring, and that's why I knew he was going to meet Pacquiao in the center of the ring. If you look at Floyd's fight versus Mosley, even the round that Mosley hurt him, when he went back in his corner, he refused water because he was so mad that he got hit like that. He ain't even want no water, and he went back to the center of the ring. They thought he was going to run, slip, and box, but he met him in the center of the ring and took it to him. So this guy is brilliant and he's a genius when it comes to boxing and he's always going to take the guys who are considered as good as he is and make them look less than what they really are, and people are never going to be totally satisfied until this guy gets beat, which is not going to happen.

As far as people that say Floyd ran, Pacquiao tried to throw just as many punches as he always throws in his prior fights. He landed at one of the lesser percentages of any of Floyd's opponents. What they have to realize is, Pacquiao is not the great fighter that they wanted to hype him to be or hoped that he was. Come on, man, this guy got laid out cold against Marquez, a fighter that Floyd made look silly. And him and Marquez had four wars and he had trouble with Marquez every single time. Floyd fought Marquez and made him look silly, and yeah, styles make fights, man, but when you have an opponent that is giving you the trouble that Marquez gave Pacquiao and you put them in the ring with a Floyd Mayweather and he does what he does against Marquez, how in the world are you going to come up with your same style and beat him? I told people, if Pacquiao does not make an adjustment or try some new or different things when he goes up against Floyd that it was going to be an easy night for Floyd because I knew Floyd would counter him all day, and all them lil' flurries ain't gonna touch him. I like Pacquiao as a fighter, but at the same time, I believe PacMan done ran his course. The skill set that he has and on the level of boxing that he's on, he's basically the #2 fighter in the world at his weight class, but I believe the skill set that he has is a bit overrated. But hey, it works, man. And I applaud him and commend him for his accomplishments, but I think that he has ran his course in terms of greatness and I don't know if I'm interested in seeing another PacMan fight.

When Floyd walks away from boxing, I really don't see or know of anyone that can fill his shoes. I haven't seen anyone that is up-and-coming that can fill the shoes of a Floyd Mayweather. Of course he's going to be missed. He's the pay-per-view King, he has a character, and he has a style that is blueprint genius and you're not going to see that anymore. He will be missed. I want to say something, a lot of people are saying things about Floyd Mayweather. "Oh, he's too flashy. I don't like him. I hate him." I even hear people say they hate this man. Lets be clear about something, man, you and I, Percy, we grew up watching Wrestlemania. We thought that the bad guys were really the bad guys and we thought that the good guys were really the good guys, and we never made that distinction between the wrestler and the human being. I just want to say to people that they need to start making the distinction between the boxer and the human being Floyd Mayweather. A lot of people don't realize that Floyd tried to play the calm, cool, and collective nice guy role. It just wasn't working for him and this guy was a world champion and he was doing everything that he needed to do. He never reached the superstar status until he started acting up in front of the camera. Sure, he had a little domestic dispute, but that's really about all people can say in terms of breaking the law and possibly deserving some jail time. He has never done anything to make somebody say they hate him or they don't like him or he's too flashy. Understand this, Floyd is in character. Make a distinction between the boxer and the real person.

This man is a loving father. This man is a loving son. He is a loving nephew. He loves his mother, he loves his father, and he loves his family. He takes good care of not only his family, but a lot of his friends. He is genuinely a good dude and a good person. Make the distinction between the character "Money" Mayweather the boxer and the person Floyd Mayweather. And I think if people start doing that, a lot of people will start to like this guy and stop trying to find a reason not to like him. He's selling himself and he's selling a fight. This man trying to make money and he succeeded at it. It gets on my nerves when I hear people say I hate him and he's this and he's that and they judging the man because he gives them a glimpse and shots of him on camera. We thought Rowdy Roddy Piper was a bad guy back in the day, but in reality, the man was a loving husband, son, and father, and a loving person. And he was a good person outside of wrestling. You never know the true situation that led up to that situation he had or surrounding that situation he had. We don't know what set all of that mess off with his kids mother, man. And who are we to judge anybody? For you to say you hate a person and you don't even know him, all you know is what the media gave you a glimpse of and you want to judge a person off of that. That, to me, is sad and I'm sure that that bothers him. It's like, look how good I am and look how many people say they hate me or don't like me. That's an awful feeling, man, and people need to turn the corner on that type of judging people.
