"I had 44 fights in my whole career. Canelo's going to be just another one in the new chapter of my career," stated WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto, who confirmed that he plans on facing former jr. middleweight champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez in his next bout. Before that happens, however, Cotto made it clear that he plans on enjoying some time with his family before jumping back into another grueling training camp.
"First of all, before a Canelo fight happens, if people want the fight, I want the fight, everybody want the fight, let's do it, but before that, I want to spend time with my family," Cotto explained during an interview with HBO commentator Max Kellerman immediately after his impressive 4th round stoppage of challenger Daniel Geale. "I want to enjoy time with them and then after that, we'll be back in LA training for Canelo."
