"My weight yesterday was 153.6 pounds. Do you think I'm a middleweight? I'm not," stated four-division world champion Miguel Cotto, who admitted that he's not a true middleweight despite being the reigning WBC middleweight champion. Fresh off of a devastating 4th round stoppage of Daniel Geale, Cotto confirmed that he plans on facing former jr. middleweight champion Canelo Alvarez in his next bout, however, after that fight, he claims he's willing to face hard-hitting, undefeated fellow middleweight champion Gennady Golovkin.
"I want to enjoy time with them and then after that, we'll be back in LA training for Canelo," Cotto stated to HBO commentator Max Kellerman immediately after his win. When asked about a potential future showdown with Golovkin, Cotto replied, "Why not, but we need to do our fights. Canelo seems to be the next one and then after that, if Gennady is available and he wants to fight, I'm available too."
