"I just wanted to thank everyone for the love and support. I appreciate the concerns about my health, but I'm fine. As I had mentioned before, I'm going to take a little bit of time, but I'll be back," stated former UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey, who finally commented on her 2nd round knockout loss to newly-crowned champion Holly Holm. Although she has yet to officially speak to any member of the media, Rousey took to social media to make the statement to her fans.
Immediately after the fight, Rousey was taken to the hospital for "precautionary purposes" and did not have an opportunity to comment on the loss, the first of her career, during the post-fight press conference. According to UFC President Dana White, the former champion suffered a ""very big gash" on her bottom lip that required the services of a plastic surgeon. Although it's still too early to talk about the timetable for her return, White made it clear that a rematch with Holm is "the fight that makes sense."
