The highly-anticipated welterweight showdown between WBA champion Keith Thurman and former champion Shawn Porter is officially a done deal. Sources have confirmed multiple reports stating that the fight will take place on March 12 at the Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut and will be broadcast on CBS. We're told that Porter, who is already in New York to attend Saturday's heavyweight clash between champion Deontay Wilder and challenger Artur Szpilka, will be joined by Thurman during the broadcast to officially announce the fight.
Porter last fought back in June, scoring a unanimous decision victory over multi-division world champion Adrien Broner. Thurman fought roughly a month after that, scoring a 7th round stoppage of former champion Luis Collazo. This will mark the third time that he's headlined a prime time debut for Premier Boxing Champions, the first taking place on March 7 when he defeated Robert Guerrero in the very first PBC card on NBC prime time, and the second time being the aforementioned July 11 victory over Luis Collazo for PBC'S debut on ESPN prime time.
