Moments ago at The Echo Arena, in Liverpool, WBC Cruiserweight Champion Tony Bellew dropped BJ Flores four times en route to a third round knockouit victory in front of his hometown fans. It didn't take long for Bellew to find a home for his punches, dropping Flores hard in the second round with an overhand right. Flores was complaining to the referee about a low blow and while in the clinch, he got caught with the right hand that sent him down. Bellew quickly sensed that the fight was there for the taking and put the pressure on, catching Flores with another shot near the back of the ear that sunk the challenger to his knees. Flores again answered the count, prompting both men to come out swinging, landing some big shots with 20 seconds left in the round. It was Flores, however, who got the worst of it, eating a right hook that sent him down for a third time right at the bell.
Round three started with Bellew walking Flores down, and it wasn't long until he closed the show. A right hook to the body followed by a big left hook upstairs dropped Flores to his knees in pain. Although he tried to stand right at the count of 9, he wasn't fast enough to beat the count and the fight was waved off. Immediately after, Bellew set his sights on former heavyweight champion David Haye, a friend of BJ Flores, who sat ringside covering the fight for Sky Sports. The champion rushed over to the corner in which David Haye was sitting and the pair exchanged some harsh words. Bellew climbed out the ring and made a charge towards Haye and the pair had to be kept apart. Bellew returned to the ring, but was still shouting insults out to David Haye, who was smiling back at him from ringside.
