It's Thursday again and that means I get to dig my fingers deep into my bulging mail sack for a handful of awesomeness. This week, we deal in HATE—deep, dark hate for yours truly. Thank God for my high self-esteem and my general disregard for dumb people. All hate email, btw, is [sic] and some has been edited for the sake of brevity and coherence. Here we go:

It’s funny how most of my hate mail is anonymous, isn’t it? Anyway, I’m not “against” any white fighter or any fighter at all, actually. What I am against, though, is the class-based and race-based bullshit that DOES fuel a lot of what happens in the sport, especially in the way certain fighters are portrayed in the media and how fans develop double standards because of this bias. Being for an even playing field is not being AGAINST anyone.
P.S. You are dumb.

Paul. I had to LOL when I read your column about fake news media. You do know that you’re working for the most biased boxing site online, right? While you’re shooting all these arrows at everyone else you’re sitting there and working for the worst offender. I follow your writing and enjoy it. You seem to be a standup guy and Floydhype probably brought you in to add some credibility to what they do but they’re not about fairness in fair media. They are propaganda for Mayweather and Al Haymon. That’s it. That’s why they exist. I wish you the best but you might be wise to avoid your pet issue of media bias while you’re working for the worst of the worst. – John

I’ll treat this email seriously since, at the very least, you chose not to hurl grade school insults at me. First and foremost, if you’ve followed my career, then you know that my aggressive honesty has cost me a lot of money and a lot of work. I’ve made some major enemies in this business for no other reason than because I chose not to hold back the truth. I’m fine with the opportunities I’ve lost for not “playing the game.” All I can tell you about FightHype is what I know and what I know is this—I was brought in and told, flat-out, that I had full creative freedom and could go after anyone I chose—Mayweather and company, included. Now let me flip this a bit and ask you something. Let’s say I concede that the site is heavy on Floyd coverage—Is this maybe because Floyd has opted to make himself accessible to FightHype? And, if so, how is this any different than some other site that, for example, is heavy on Gennady Golovkin coverage because Team Golovkin opened up their training camp to one of the site’s writers? So, assuming this is a fair question—and it is—why is FightHype taken to task for doing this and the other sites NEVER get called on the carpet for the same behavior? That certainly speaks of bias and double standard to me. You also won’t see anyone from FightHype on Golden Boy or Top Rank or Thompson Boxing payrolls—something you can’t say for those in the media screaming about how “bought off” FightHype is. Again, I can only go by what I see and I haven’t seen anything here remotely as compromised as what I routinely see from other sites.
