NATHANIEL GALLIMORE: "JULIAN WILLIAMS IS WHACK...I'M GOING TO KNOCK HIM OUT"

By Percy Crawford | January 02, 2018
NATHANIEL GALLIMORE:

“Julian Williams is whack, man. He’s not a good fighter...those guys are not real fighters. None of those guys are real fighters. They are just actors until they get in the ring...I’m going to knock him out. It’s as simple as that. I’m going to break him down and knock him out. I’m going to take him out,” stated jr. middleweight contender Nathaniel Gallimore, who talked about his future plans and much more. Check it out!

PC: You had a very successful 2017. Heading into the new year, how do you feel?

NG: I feel good, man. I feel ready. I can’t wait to show what I got in 2018.

PC: The Justin DeLoach fight was your coming out party, but you don’t feel that that fight was your best.

NG: Nah, it wasn’t my best, man. The best is yet to come.

PC: Julian Williams is a guy who you have made it clear you are interested in fighting. What did you think of his last performance against Ishe Smith?

NG: Man, Julian Williams is whack, man. He’s not a good fighter. That’s what they do; all of the managers and promoters build them up, get them to the top, and then we see what happens to them. He’s not a good fighter. It’s just like how Lubin was built up. They pampered him all the way to the title shot and then he got knocked out; brutally knocked out. Those guys are not real fighters. None of those guys are real fighters. They are just actors until they get in the ring.

PC: When you get the opportunity to get in the ring with one of these 154-pounders who you feel aren’t real fighters, do you think that’s what will separate you from them is the fact that you think you are a real fighter?

NG: Yep! That’s exactly what will separate us. It’s going to be my time. I’m just waiting on the opportunity. In fact, I’m going to demand my opportunity because all of them is just ducking anyway. I’m in the rankings now and they will go down the line and pass me up to fight somebody else. They won’t fight me. Julian Williams said he was supposed to fight me before he fought Ishe Smith, but then he said Ishe Smith asked for him and he took it. Ishe Smith is old. And then he didn’t even look good against Ishe Smith. Ishe got some work out of him. An old guy like that, you should dominate him and knock him out. You going back and forth, he hitting you and you hitting him; come on, man. Ishe Smith is old and he’s just not good.

PC: That was my understanding as well is that the fight between you guys was done, and I don’t know what happened, but then the Smith fight came about.

NG: I’m not buying any of that. They saw the tape and they were scared. They just using that “we don’t know what happened and why the fight didn’t come off” as a stunt. He going to write on Instagram, “Ishe Smith people offered me more money.” And then he said that people said I was easy work. Okay, if I was easy work, why didn’t you take the fight with me then and then fight Ishe Smith? Time will tell. They are going to have to get in there with me. I’m going to make it where they can’t dodge me or duck me. They going to have to fight me. I’m going to keep moving up the rankings and they are going to have to fight me.

PC: Ideally, when would you like to be back in there fighting?

NG: Man, I was supposed to fight under my management teammate Sergey Lipinets. He’s fighting Mikey Garcia and I was supposed to fight “J Rock” as the co-main event on that card. I don’t know what happened about that. They said that he said he wanted the fight, but somebody else fell in that slot. I think Barthelemy fell into that spot or someone. So I think me and “J Rock” probably fight on a different card; headline a different card in late January or February. I’m just waiting on my management team to give me the word. Everybody has been on vacation, so I will talk to them soon.

PC: How do you think a fight between you and Julian Williams would play out?

NG: (Laughing) I know he’s not going to fight me toe-to-toe. He’s going to run and try to box me. He’s going to try to tap, tap, and run, but I’m going to cut the ring off. He’s not going to be able to run from me for 12 rounds. I’m going to break him down; hit him on the arms or whatever. Wherever I can hit him, I will and that will break him down and he’s going to have to stand and fight me. There won’t be nowhere to run. I’m going to cut the ring off, trap him, and he’s going to have to fight me. I’m going to knock him out. It’s as simple as that. I’m going to break him down and knock him out. I’m going to take him out. I’m going to show these guys that I’m here to stay. I’m in this 154-pound division to wreak havoc on all of the 154-pounders. They going to know my name in 2018!

PC: That’s one thing I like about you, you don’t tip-toe around who you are going to call out; you call out all of them.

NG: I don’t have any picks and chooses; it’s anybody in the top 5 top or the top 10 I want. I don’t care if it’s Lara. People be scared of these guys, but they are human beings just like me. They got two hands and two feet just like me.

PC: You have this “No friends, no shaking hands,” movement going and I like that as well. This is truly a war zone to you.

NG: I didn’t come into this game to make friends. I’m not your friend, I’m not your buddy; I’m not your cousin or your brother. This is a business. Business is first. I don’t want to shake no hands or act nice. I don’t want none of that. I don’t play any of those games. I’m a different type of fighter. I don’t want to give an opponent any confidence like, “Oh yeah, man, he was trying to be cool.” No, I want them to go to sleep and dream that I’m going to beat his ass; that’s it.

PC: I always appreciate the time. Best of luck this year and keep me posted on your next move for sure. Is there anything else you want to add before I let you go?

NG: Hey man, I appreciate it. They could follow me on Facebook under Nathaniel Gallimore, on Instragram @Nathaniel_Gallimore and on Twitter @Nathaniel Gallimore.
