Moments ago at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada, multi-division world champion and future Hall of Famer Manny Pacquiao won an impressive split decision victory over previously undefeated former world champion Keith Thurman. It looked like it might be an early night for Pacquiao when he landed a crisp right hand that floored Thurman in the first round. Thurman, however, brushed it off as a flash knockdown and both fighters began to trade fast and furious punches as the rounds progressed.
Although Pacquiao was in control of the fight early, Thurman made it interesting at times as he pressed forward trying to land big punches. The quicker Pacquiao, however, always had an answer and was landing the heavier blows. In the 10th round, Pacquiao landed a left hook to the body that severely buckled Thurman to the point where he considered taking a knee. After 12 entertaining rounds of action, one judges scored it in favor of Thurman while the other two judges agreed with everyone else in the arena, scoring the bout for Pacquiao.
