WBC & WBO Jr. Welterweight Champion Timothy Bradley has been all too quiet ever since his contract with promoter Gary Shaw expired at the end of June. While there has been plenty of speculation as to when the current Jr. Welterweight kingpin would break his silence regarding his promotional situation, it looks like we'll break it for him. According to Hall of Fame trainer Jesse Reid, Bradley has already agreed to sign with Top Rank Promotions and is looking to make a permanent move up the scales to Welterweight in hopes of securing a fight with Manny Pacquiao next year. "I talked to Bob [Arum] about making a fight with Bradley and Paul Spadafora, but we'll have to get through Mike Jones to get him," stated Reid, who broke the news to FightHype.com earlier today.
"It wasn't the first time we've talked about it," Reid added, suggesting that Bradley's signing with Top Rank has been in the works for quite some time now. While all seems quiet on the radar for now, it seems that Bradley's desire to land a big fight with one of the top headliners in the sport made the move to Top Rank that much more appealing and a future Pacquiao vs. Bradley showdown all the more likely, as Arum hinted to back in May following Pacquiao's dominant victory over Shane Mosley. I guess it wasn't a coincidence that Bradley was in attendance for that fight after all.
