Just when you thought things couldn't get any juicier in the saga of Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, it just got a little more interesting. According to Manny Pinol of Philboxing.com, Michael Koncz, the longtime advisor of pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao, has been fired. Evidently, due to a number of missteps, Koncz has been relieved of his position as both advisor and partner with MP Promotions.
Recently, Koncz came on record with FightHype.com and informed us that, thus far, Pacquiao was still only willing to perform random Olympic-style drug testing 14 days prior to the fight due to his fear of giving blood. The news came just one day after Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, revealed that he was now willing to do full testing all the way up to the fight so long as it wasn't conducted by the United States Anti-Doping Agency. One has to wonder if this latest incident may have had something to do with this latest news of Koncz's firing.
Thus far, our phone calls to Michael Koncz have gone unanswered, but stay tuned for more information as this story develops.
