GLUCOSAMINE: THE SECRET TO MANNY PACQUIAO'S SUCCESS

According to strength and conditioning coach Alex Ariza, the "FDA approved" supplement glucosamine may be the single biggest factor in Manny Pacquiao's success as he climbed up the divisions en route to his Hall of Fame career. In his latest blog entry found on Pacquiao's official website, MP8.ph, Ariza explains how the supplement had a direct impact in healing a number of ailments that pevented the pound-for-pound champion from training in the manner that he does today. "When the champ was having certain ailments with his shoulders and legs, he could not practice or train like he does now. Now, in the gym, he is alway in tip top shape. His health is great and his training is ridiculous," Ariza explained. "When Manny Pacquiao trains this hard every day without pain, he is that much better and that much stronger in the ring come fight night. This is why he is dominating people the way he is. It is because he now is operating at 100%."

For those of you who are already pulling up another browser window to visit Google, glucosamine, also known as glucosamine Sulfate and glucosamine Hydrochloride, is a naturally occurring chemical found in the human body. Made from glucose and the amino acid glutamine, it is found in the fluid around joints and plays a key role in building cartilage, the tough connective tissue that cushions the joints. The supplement is commonly used to treat osteoarthritis, reducing swelling, stiffness and pain in joints caused by injury or normal wear and tear. It's no secret that for years, Pacquiao has suffered from joint pain in his shoulders and legs, but with the use of glucosamine and proper exercise techniques, Ariza has been able to rehabilitate and strenghten the joints.

Ariza admits that he was skeptical of the supplement at first, having used many different forms of the product in the past, but seeing little to no results. It wasn't until he tried one particular company's product on his own dog when he realized that he finally found one that worked. "Two years ago, my dog could barely walk. He could not do anything; could not even make it outside to take a piss. One day, a friend of mine said to start giving this glucosamine to my dog and watch the difference. WOW! I mean my dog jumps up on the couch now; chases kids down the street. He has a life again. I am still blown away to this day. He is a totally different dog," Ariza revealed. "Not only did this supplement help to cure my dog to have a better life, it also helped with my rehabilitation with Manny Pacquiao's ailments; the ailments that were preventing him from being the fighter he is today."

Although Ariza did not name the brand of glucosamine that he uses, he did reveal that he's in the process of working with a company to market the "Manny Pack", a variety pack of supplements that will include the same type of glucosamine that Pacquiao uses. "There is a 'Manny Pack' that I developed exclusively for Manny Pacquiao. It is not sold to the public. It contains everything I think the champ needs to perform at his best. I am currently getting this pack made for the public. The deal I am working on is to make it exclusive to my readers and the people that want something that actually works," he added. "The best of Pacquiao is yet to come. Glucosamine has been a big factor of his success."
