"If he's a free agent, I want to sign him. Floyd Mayweather would love to sign Devon Alexander," stated undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather, who took time out of his training schedule to speak briefly with FightHype.com. Although Mayweather has been busy working out three times a day in preparation for his September 17th return to the ring to face WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz, it's clear that he's also focused on building the future of his promotional company.
"We want Devon Alexander. As long as Devon Alexander is free, Mayweather Promotions wants him," he reiterated moments before he embarked on his evening road work. It appears as though Floyd Mayweather is becoming much more interested in adding new talent to the roster of Mayweather Promotions, which already includes welterweight contender Said Ouali (28-3, 20 KO's) and talented undefeated jr. welterweight Jessie Vargas (16-0, 9 KO's), who will be fighting Josesito Lopez on the undercard of Mayweather's fight with Ortiz.
