Last Sunday, a new show premiered on the FOX network titled "In The flow With Affion Crockett". It's a sketch-comedy series starring talented actor-comedian Affion Crockett and produced by Academy Award-winning actor/Grammy Award-winning singer Jamie Foxx. One of the skits features Crockett doing an impersonation of Manny Pacquiao auditioning to be a judge on "American Idol". Although they say that imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, and Crockett's impersonation of the Filipino superstar was remarkably accurate, one has to wonder if Pacquiao himself will take offense to some of the subjects they poked fun at.
During the skit, another actor impersonating world-class trainer Freddie Roach says, "you have to take your vitamins right now," and then proceeds to inject the boxer with a syringe, prompting Pacquiao (Crockett) to jump up out of his chair and start throwing punches non-stop. Obviously, the premise is to make fun of the accusations regarding performance-enhancing drugs. The question, however, is whether or not Pacquiao, or Freddie roach for that matter, will find the skit to be humorous. Pacquiao is currently in the middle of a lawsuit against Floyd Mayweather, alleging defamation of character due to accusations that he used performance-enhancing drugs. Although he's continued to enjoy a great deal of success in his boxng career, as well as his politicial and musical careers, the skit makes it clear that the allegations are still a topic of discussion...even if it is just comedy.
