HBO's award-winning franchise "24/7" returned tonight with episode 2 of "24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz", the all-access reality series following undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather and WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz as they prepare for their September 17 showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Episode 2 focused a little more on the trainers, Roger Mayweather and Danny Garcia, but it was not short on quotes from both fighters. "He scared. He petrified...you see how he tried to put in his head, he said, 'You know what? When I fought that one fighter, I wasn't there that night.' Oh...you was there on the canvas...Victor Ortiz is 24, I'm old enough to be the boy's father, so I'm gonna son him...don't know and don't care how many weeks it is to the fight. I'm ready! If it was tonight, I'm ready," Mayweather would comment, making it clear that he's already ready to teach the younger Ortiz a lesson. Check out what else Floyd Mayweather had to say in episode 2 of 24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz.
On his argument with his father...
"Me and my dad having a disagreement, all that's going to do is make me go out and work that much harder."
"What's next is Setpember 17th, that's what's next. I could care less; I'm not fighting my father, you know what I'm saying? I could care less about what my father is doing. I could care less. I don't never have to speak to him again in life, I don't care. You know, I'm fine with or without him in my life. I'm fine."
On Victor Ortiz...
"I'm finna fuck Victor Ortiz up. He scared. He petrified, shit! Hey, you see how he tried to put in his head, he said, 'You know what? When I fought that one fighter, I wasn't there that night.' Oh motherfucker you was there on the canvas (laughing)."
On his late night workouts...
"I gotta be serious. This is how I feed my family. I can't bullshit with this. You know, when it's all said and done, this is serious. Today when I workout, this is my third workout today, I don't want to make no mistakes, so I can't come here and bullshit. I gotta be serious."
"You know, late night workout, we call these 3-a-days. When a fighter start doing 3-a-days, then talk to me."
More on Victor Ortiz, Oscar De La Hoya, his father and more...
"Victor Ortiz is 24, I'm old enough to be the boy's father, so I'm gonna son him. I'ma beat him and throw in the dungeon, naked."
"Shit is fucked up in the boxing world. My daddy jealous of me and Roger's relationship. My daddy always been jealous because he wasn't shit as a fighter. De La Hoya wearing drag, doing coke. Motherfuckin Ortiz looking like a Victoria's Secret model. What the fuck is going on?"
"You can call me one thing, you can call me what you wanna call me, I ain't no cheater. I earned mine. Or is it that I'm young, black and rich, and I speak my mind, so they don't like me? What the fuck I'm supposed to tell you, that another athlete work harder than me? Fuck no. Showing is better than telling. Let's go, baby! Showing is better than telling. Let's go!"
"Yeah motherfucker, if you gonna beat me, earn it!"
"Shit, don't know and don't care how many weeks it is to the fight. I'm ready! If it was tonight, I'm ready.
