HBO's award-winning franchise "24/7" returned with episode 3 of "24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz", the all-access reality series following undefeated pound-for-pound champion Floyd Mayweather and WBC welterweight champion Victor Ortiz as they prepare for their September 17 showdown at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada. Episode 3 focused more on time outside the ring, as both fighters spent time relaxing and enjoying the pleasures of life, but it was not short on quotes from both fighters. "Floyd's nothing new to my camp...Mayweather's a human being. you know? I don't see Floyd as anything special. The world has for many years, but the world's been decieved for many years too. I mean, he's 41-0, but there's never been a Victor in there with him," Ortiz would comment, again making it clear that he's more than confident about being the first to hand Mayweather a loss. Check out what else Victor Ortiz had to say in episode 3 of 24/7 Mayweather/Ortiz.
On being a role model...
"The person you see, that's who I am. I can't change that. You just gotta realize and keep grounded and know that you got a special spot, you've been given a special opportunity, therefore you just gotta work hard."
"A lot of these little kids, sometimes, they don't have the best people and role models to look up to, and I'm not saying I'm the best role model to look up to, I'm not saying I'm the greatest, but I can say that, hey, to a point, I may be able to help a person or two, you know, just maybe believe in themselves a little more than they did and give them a little bit of hope."
"I can say things; it's just up to them to pick it up."
On the media attention he's receiving...
"As far as media and stuff, yes, it's the biggest event I ever had in my life, but there's nothing different about it because I will throw the gloves on and we will dance at the end of the night."
On how training camp is going thus far...
"At this point in camp, I'm feeling very content. My speed's matching up quite a bit. My combos are coming out as expected. I still know that I have more in the tank, but as of right now, everything is looking pretty on point."
"I have some of the best sparring partners out there. They're dangerous, speedy and everything combined."
On Mayweather...
"Floyd's nothing new to my camp. There's nothing there that has me out saying, 'Oh my God, oh my God.' There actually, more than anything, a lot there that says, 'Thank God!' Mayweather's a human being. you know? I don't see Floyd as anything special. The world has for many years, but the world's been decieved for many years too. I mean, he's 41-0, but there's never been a Victor in there with him."
"There's a lot of things that I see in him, about him, they don't mix with me, and they won't."
"I belong here. I'm supposed to have been here a while ago. I'm not stopping for anyone, and with all due respect to Floyd, he's not the one that's going to stop me."
"I know why I'm here, I know where I'm going, and I know why I'm staying. The question is, does he?"
