"Floyd ain't do nothing wrong. The only thing he did wrong was, I would've led with the right hand...You don't headbutt another fighter, dog. Victor Ortiz...it was a bad day to be a Mexican. Floyd did exactly what he was supposed to do...Floyd showed class though and dapped him off and hugged him. Then he gave him a 2-piece combo with a side of Nyquil. He wanted out of that fight...Ortiz broke the code...I loved it. I just gotta teach Floyd to slap the mic out of they hand," stated future Hall of Famer James "Lights Out" Toney, who shared his thoughts on Floyd Mayweather's 4th round knockout of Victor Ortiz and the argument that ensued with Larry Merchant after the fight. You don't want to miss what else he had to say. Check it out!
PC: I'm sure you are calling to give your thoughts on Mayweather/Ortiz. What did you think?
JT: Yeah man. Floyd ain't do nothing wrong. The only thing he did wrong was, I would've led with the right hand shit. I wouldn't have even given him that hook. That was some bitch shit Ortiz did. You don't headbutt another fighter, dog. Victor Ortiz...it was a bad day to be a Mexican. Floyd did exactly what he was supposed to do.
PC: That seems to be the majority opinion amongst fighters...
JT: (Cutting in) Yeah, because if you have never fought and never had a motherfucker headbutt you in the mouth, it's easy to sit back and say what Floyd should have done. I'm telling you, I wouldn't even shook that motherfucker's hand. Floyd showed class though and dapped him off and hugged him. Then he gave him a 2-piece combo with a side of Nyquil. He [Ortiz] wanted out of that fight.
PC: What did you think of the fight itself?
JT: I thought Floyd put on a masterful performance. They want to make like Mexicans are running boxing; they ain't running shit. Floyd acted like a professional and did what he had to do. He repped the D. Michigan fighters don't play that shit. What happens if he gets gashed open with that headbutt? Come on, dog. Ortiz broke the code. You don't do that shit in a fight of that magnitude. HBO should be ashamed of themselves if they bring that dude back on. First, the motherfucker quit on HBO and said he shouldn't even be fighting, and now, he's fucking intentionally headbutting their biggest money maker. Come on, man. You tell me what that's about.
PC: I can't call it, man. And you have had your run-ins with the post-fight interviewer before, except you got into it with Jim Gray. What did you think of the Mayweather/Merchant aftermath?
JT: I loved it. I just gotta teach Floyd to slap the mic out of they hand. All of these bitch ass writers and reporters think they can disrespect fighters and shit. We put a lot of work into this shit and I know I ain't letting none of them talk crazy to me; I aint done with them either. That shit Floyd did to Merchant was long overdue and classic. Merchant has been disrespecting fighters since I can remember, so karma is a bitch. He got disrespected.
