Moments ago, at the US Bank Arena in his hometown of Cincinnati, Ohio, undefeated jr. lightweight Adrien Broner captured his first world title, scoring a sensational knockout of Vicente Rodriguez at 1:43 of the 3rd round to capture the WBO title. Rodriguez was game as he brought the fight right to him, but he was no match for the more technically sound Broner, he rocked him with an uppercut and put him down for the count with a devastating left hook. He then unleashes a barrage of shots, some landing, but most blocked. HARD uppercut from Broner staggers Rodrigues. Rodriguez against the ropes. Broner digging to the body. HARD left hook from Broner lands and Rodriguez is down. The ref is counting. That's it. It's over. Wow!
