SHANE MOSLEY: "MARQUEZ WILL MAKE MORE MONEY FOR PACQUIAO...THE SAME OUTCOME IS GOING TO HAPPEN"

SHANE MOSLEY:

"Marquez will make more money for Pacquiao. Lamont Peterson, they're really not going to go for. Timothy Bradley, not really, but I think that will be their second option and Marquez will be the first because it's going to make more money. Since a lot of people said Marquez won the last fight, there's controversy, so they'll just make some more money...I thought Pacquiao still won. It was a close fight and Marquez did real good. He moved real good and he was countering real good and everything, but I gave the slight edge to Pacquiao...I think it will be pretty much the same fight if they fought again, you know? I think that probably the same outcome is going to happen again, but it will be a fun fight to watch again. I mean, people got interest and they believe that Marquez won and this and that, but I think it's going to be the same type of fight. If they fight 100 times, it wil be the same and end up with the same result," stated three-division world champion Shane Mosley, who shared his thoughts on a couple of potential fights for Manny Pacquiao, as wells as the rematch between Victor Ortiz and Andre Berto. Check it out!

BT: You mentioned that Berto fight earlier. You guys were supposed to fight when he was still undefeated, but obviously you both went in different directions. Next month, he'll be looking to erase the blemish that Victor Ortiz put on his record. Who do you like in that fight?

SM: Um, for some reason, I'm leaning towards Berto on this one. I don't know why. I just think Berto has the edge emotionally in this next fight. I mean, but anything can happen. I like Victor Ortiz. I think he's a great, young fighter coming up and everything, but I'm leaning more towards Berto for this fight. I think Berto took him for granted and was doing a lot of different things, Hollywooding it if you will, all over the place; just not really paying Victor any mind, you know? I think now, he's taking Victor a little more serious. It should be a very interesting fight. It looks like Berto has the edge this time, but we'll see.

BT: That's crazy to think that Floyd is going to be in jail, right?

SM: Yeah. He'll keep himself in shape while he's in there though; maybe train a little bit. He'll probably be out in about a month, if that. I'm pretty sure he'll get out soon. Let's just hope for the best.

BT: What do you think Manny's next move will be since he obviously won't be fighting Floyd next?

SM: I'm not sure what Manny will do now. Maybe he'll fight Timothy Bradley or somebody like that. That might be a good fight for Manny. Timothy Bradley or maybe Berto would be a good little fight for him.

BT: Well, Arum's pretty much narrowed the list down to Bradley, Lamont Peterson, Marquez or Cotto again. Judging from how Arum has done business in the past, I think they'll probably just go with Marquez again.

SM: You know what? I think you're right. Marquez will make more money for Pacquiao. Lamont Peterson, they're really not going to go for. Timothy Bradley, not really, but I think that will be their second option and Marquez will be the first because it's going to make more money. Since a lot of people said Marquez won the last fight, there's controversy, so they'll just make some more money.

BT: Did you see that third fight between those two?

SM: I seen it. I thought Pacquiao still won. It was a close fight and Marquez did real good. He moved real good and he was countering real good and everything, but I gave the slight edge to Pacquiao. I was talking with Brother Naazim and I said it's who you like. If you like Pacquiao, then you can say Pacquiao threw more punches and landed more punches. If you like Marquez, well, you can say Marquez had the most effective punches. It's who you like; who the people like. If you're going for a certain person, then you're going to see that person winning. I just think, looking at it from my perspective, Manny was the aggressor the whole fight. Manny threw the most punches and landed the most punches, and he's the champion. Marquez did a fabulous job, a great job. He could have did more, but he fought a great fight with what he had. He did what he could do with the tools that he had. Really, he couldn't stand right there with Pacquaio and fight him punch for punch or he probably would have got caught with something. He moved real good, side-stepped him to the left, and did some decent counters with uppercuts and stuff. He got some good stuff done. He did what he could do.

BT: Did you seee Marquez using the same type of movement that you were looking to implement and take advantage of when you fought Manny?

SM: Basically he did the same thing. He moved away, but he countered a little more and he threw more punches and landed more, but he basically moved the same way. He moved to the left, jabbed him, kept Manny off balance, and Manny could never hit him or capitalize on anything because Marquez was constantly moving. Basically, that's the same thing I did with both of my hurt ankles and my blistered foot. That's the same thing. The people who were saying I was running, and this and that, if they only knew that I really couldn't run. It was just more of an experience thing where I know how to get out the way and I can be there, but not really be there, and I don't have to move my feet as much. But Manny, you know, he's a great fighter; he won. I think that he slightly edged Marquez, but Marquez fought a great fight. I think it will be pretty much the same fight if they fought again, you know? I think that probably the same outcome is going to happen again, but it will be a fun fight to watch again. I mean, people got interest and they believe that Marquez won and this and that, but I think it's going to be the same type of fight. If they fight 100 times, it wil be the same and end up with the same result, I think. But I take my hat off to Marquez and to Pacquiao for giving the fans a good fight, and that's what it's about.

BT: If Tim Bradley were to get the assignment instead, do you think that would be an easier or more difficult fight for Manny?

SM: I really don't know. I really don't know. I believe Tim Bradley is very tough and he's very strong-willed, but I don't know if that's going to play to Pacquiao's advantage or if it's not, you know what I mean? But Timothy is also young and he's very hungry and he has a lot of energy, so that could also play to Timothy Bradley's favor as well. He's young, hungry, he has a lot of energy, he's all over the place, throws a lot of punches, and that can throw pacquiao off because Pacquiao is usually the one who's the more energetic. Now, he'd have somebody just as energetic as him throwing all kinds of different punches. If Timothy Bradley can take Pacquiao's shots and weather them, and he has the same activity or even more, then you lean towards Timothy Bradley, being the young, hungry guy. It just depends on how Timothy absorbs Pacquiao's shot. That's going to determine the fight. I think that's the big issue. But I like Timothy Bradley. I think the world of him. I think he's a great fighter, a great world champion; hungry, gives 100% all the time. I like him.
