According to a recent report out of the Philippines, Manny Pacquiao has revealed more details of his phone conversation with Floyd Mayweather, explaining that he was offered a guarantee of $40 million, but immediately rejected it after learning that he would not get a percentage of the pay-per-view revenue. "He said he will guarantee me $40 million, but I won't have any share on the pay-per-view and other sources of revenue," Pacquiao would tell Nick Giongco. "How can he leave me out of the pay-per-view when I generate more than him in pay-per-view sales?"
As far as Pacquiao is concerned, the offer pales in comparison to the guarantee that his own promoter, Bob Arum, would get him for the fight. It is for that reason that he's standing firm on his stance of a 50/50 split of all revenue. "I am still praying that Mayweather gets enlightened because I believe that I am not being unreasonable," Pacquiao added. His adviser, Michael Koncz, was said to be having meetings in Las Vegas earlier this week in an effort to try and salvage the fight with Mayweather. It's unclear, however, if Koncz was actually meeting with Mayweather to discuss the aspects of the initial proposal that Pacquiao discussed with Giongco.
