VICTOR ORTIZ AND ROBERT GUERRERO TARGET EACH OTHER; WILL GOLDEN BOY MAKE THE FIGHT?

Over the past several days, three-division world champion Robert Guerrero continued his campaign to find a top contender willing to step into the ring with him. Last Thursday, he took to his official Twitter page and set his sights on on former welterweight champion Victor Ortiz. "@VICIOUSortiz lets give the fans what they want battle of Cali or are you from Kansas now? Cali stand up," he would write, along with several other posts demanding that someone step up to the plate. Apparently, Victor Ortiz got the message and according to a recent update to his own Twitter page, he wants to make the fight a reality.

"I'm sure @GHOSTBOXING and I will b a great fight! Let's make it happen," Ortiz would post, making it clear that he has no problems with the fight. Guerrero would promptly respond, "@VICIOUSortiz we got the same promoter, the fans want it, u say u want it, mano y mano. Lets go! @GoldenBoyBoxing @OscarDeLaHoya @makeawar," letting Oscar De La Hoya and Golden Boy Promotions matchmaker Eric Gomez know to get the ball rolling.

Ortiz was originally set to make his return the ring this weekend in the highly-anticipated rematch with Andre Berto. Unfortunately, while training, Berto suffered a bicep injury that forced the fight to be cancelled. with Berto sidelined for the next 8-12 weeks, Ortiz is looking to move forward with another bout. Just two days ago, he stated that he wouldn't mind facing Amir Khan, Saul Alvarez, or Antonio Margarito, but it looks like he has now turned his attention to Guerrero, who obviously would love the opportunity.

With both fighters declaring their desire to face each other, one would think that this would be an extremely easy fight to make. They're both sound hungry to step into the ring and considering that they share the same promoter, it seems like making the fight is a no-brainer. Could Ortiz and Guerrero find themselves facing each other on the undercard of Mayweather vs. Cotto? It definitely sounds like a good match to make, but the question is, will Golden Boy make it?
