Sources have informed us that representatives of Marcos Maidana recently contacted the Missouri Office of Athletics to request additional anti-doping tests to be administered both before and after his scheduled February 25th clash with Devon Alexander, alleging that rumors have surfaced regarding possible PED use by Alexander. Although it's unclear as to exactly when or where these rumors have supposedly surfaced, Team Maidana apparently insist that the rumors do exist, therefore they reached out to Executive Director Tim Lueckenhoff to request the additional testing.
It's unclear at this point if there actually will be additional testing above and beyond the normal testing conducted by the commission, however, considering that Tim Lueckenhoff is also the President of the Assocition of Boxing Commission, I'm quite sure they have no problems with administering additional testing at the expense of the promoter, Golden Boy Promotions.
