"I think the only advantage that he probably has on me is power, you know. He's a big puncher and he's dangerous at any time during any point in that ring," remarked undefeated jr. welterweight champion Timothy Bradley, who believes that Manny Pacquiao's punching power will be the only advantage he has when the two finally meet inside the ring on June 9th. Needless to say, when it comes to advantages, power is one of the best ones to have, but Bradley is confident that he has the right game plan to nullify Pacquiao's best asset.
"My defense is good enough to deal with anybody's power, man, and I feel that I'll be able to isolate him with my good defense and my feet as well," Bradley explained to reporters at yesterday's press conference in Los Angeles, California. It's a strategy that sounds good on paper, but is a lot easier said than done when facing a fighter as quick as Pacquiao, who's known for getting in and out and attacking at odd angles. Pacquiao's speed, however, is not quite as big of a concern to Bradley, who feels he'll be nearly as fast as the Filipino sensation.
"Manny's pretty quick, man, He's a fast guy, but, you know, I'm pretty quick myself. Manny, I think he might be a little bit quicker than I am, you know," Bradley continued, noting that power might not be the only advantage that Pacquiao will have inside the ring. "Manny Pacquiao, he's quick, but, you know, he places his shots very well. He's very accurate; very accurate on his punches." Come June 9th, we'll find out just how good Pacquiao's accuracy is against the defense and footwork of Bradley.
