In response to recent rumblings that former undisputed heavyweight champion Mike Tyson is interested in making a return to the ring, 4-time heavyweight champion Evander Holyfield welcomed the idea of a third fight and let it be known that Tyson need only contact his people to make the fight happen.
Although Tyson hinted that money may be the deciding factor as to whether or not he's willing to make the fight, Holyfield still maintains that his only motivation is to become the undisputed heavyweight champion of the world and believes that a fight with Tyson could possibly lead him to that goal (although we're not sure how as a fight with Tyson couldn't possibly get him any closer than his last fight, a 12-round unanimous decision loss to current WBO heavyweight champion Sultan Ibragimov).
Given the current state of the heavyweight division, Holyfield and Tyson could still be considered two of the biggest names (at least, two of the biggest American names) in the division and a third fight could draw a decent amount of interest (although we like to think of it more as nostalgia than interest), not to mention, a great deal of money. That being said, it wouldn't be surprising to know that somewhere, tucked away inside of a rabbit hole, is an "advisor" already hard at work hammering out the details of a contract. While they're at it, perhaps they can also start working on some of the following nostalgic fights: Leonard-Hagler 2, Holmes-Foreman, Lewis-Bowe and Leonard-Pryor.
