PREFIGHT The challenger and former champion, Georges St-Pierre, comes out first rockin' a red Gi. The crowd erupts when he enters the arena. He skips his way to the Octagon. He looks focused and determined. The champion, Matt Serra, enters next with a cocky look on his face. The crowd rains downs the boos. Serra just smiles and puts two fingers in the air to taunt the crowd. He looks calm, cool and collected.
ROUND 1 St-Pierre takes Serra down immediately. He's in the half-guard. St-Pierre rains down some shots. Serra keeping him close. St-Pierre rains down a few more sots to the body and head. BIG right hand lands to the head for St-Pierre. Serra lands a few elbows from the bottom. St-Pierre postures up and rains down two more big shots. St-Pierre lands some short elbows. St-Pierre passes Serra's guard. St-Pierre lands some hammerfists. St-Pierre all over Serra landing shots against the cage. Nice knee lands for St-Pierre. Serra gets away and their back on their feet. Serra lands a right to the body. Quick superman punch and a right kick lands for St-Pierre. Right hook lands for St-Pierre and he takes Serra down. St-Pierre pounds on Serra from all angles at the end of the round. Dominant round for St-Pierre.
ROUND 2 Serra tries a leg kick, St-Pierre catches it, lands a straight right and takes him back down. Serra tries to tie him up. St-Pierre continues to pound on him. Serra tries to get back up...he looks fatigued. St-Pierre stays on him and lands more shots and a knee. They separate as they get back to their feet. Right head kick lands for Serra. Spinning back kick lands for St-Pierre. Three jabs land for St-Pierre. Another. St-Pierre takes him down again and lands a short elbow. Another elbow lands for St-Pierre. St-Pierre rains down some shots to the head and a knee to the body. St-Pierre rains down a hard left hook. He continues to pound on Serra. Serra just turtling up and trying to block shots. Quick three-punch combo lands for St-Pierre while Serra tried to roll back into guard. St-Pierre in side control...passing at will. More knees to the body of Serra. Serra tries to roll again. St-Pierre lands about three more knees in a row and the ref has seen enough as Serra was offering nothing in the way of offense.

POSTFIGHT Serra lifts St-Pierre in the air and carries him across the Octagon to the appreciation of the crowd. "I was trying to mix as much as I can...up, down, up, down...I tried to tire him out," stated St-Pierre about the fight. "Me and Matt Serra are buddies, we might have a drink tonight...he just said stuff to hype up the fight and I did as well," he continued as he spoke about the perceived bad blood leading up to the fight. "I was trying to get angles...as the fight went on, he was slippery...he started landing some good shots as you can see," stated Serra. "I'll be back and I'll fight whoever they put in front of me...I want to thank Georges...he's the best in the world," he continued. The crowd cheers him in appreciation.
