World-renowned trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. revealed that there's a good possibility that he may be training former jr. welterweight king Ricky Hatton. "To tell you the truth, I might be training Hatton. When I get my hands on him, he will use his head more and not get beat up. He will learn defense," stated Mayweather Sr. during a chat session with fans earlier today.
There have been several recent reports stating that Hatton may be leaving current trainer Billy Graham. Hatton's brother Matthew has already left Graham's Denton gym, leaving Ricky as the only fighter left in Graham's stable. Although Hatton has yet to make a final decision on whether or not he'll stay with his long-time trainer for his November 22nd fight with Paulie Malignaggi, it's looking more and more like he's leaning towards a split and a move to work with Mayeather Sr.
Floyd Mayweather Sr. is currently preparing Juan Guzman for his upcoming clash with Nate Campbell, Steve Forbes for an upcoming fight with Andre Berto and of course he'll be working with Oscar De La Hoya for his final fight this December. Sr. also revealed that if Zab Judah can defeat Joshua Clottey, then there's a good chance he'll be working with him in the future as well.
