jaskiejm: Thanks for taking the time to talk to us Kenny, how do you feel that even after your impressive win over Roger Huerta you still might not be the number one contender
KENNY FLORIAN: I kind of expected that. I knew that BJ would step up and fight GSP if he won. I do want to stay busy though because I don't want to wait around.
KENNY FLORIAN: I want to get another fight in before the years end.
CanadianDragon: Sean Sherk vs Tyson Griffin could be a number 1 contender match also what are your thoughts on that matchup? and would u want a rematch with Sherk this early?
KENNY FLORIAN: Absolutely. I would love to fight a rematch with Sean Sherk or the winner of Sherk-Griffin.
Dex: Kenny, you do great on MMA Live. As much as I love to watch you fight, I love to hear your insight. After watching GSP for 5 rounds barely take a deep breath vs Fitch, do you think BJ can come in strong at 170 and hang w/ GSP the entire fight? Break it down a bit for us.
KENNY FLORIAN: I definitely think BJ has the skills to go tit for tat with GSP. He hits very hard and his BJJ is amazing, but he has to deal with GSP's explosiveness and size, which isn't easy.

KENNY FLORIAN: I think probably Sean Sherk.
ShinyaAoki: Kenny how much weight do you cut, whats your walking weight?
KENNY FLORIAN: I usually cut on weigh-in day about 6 or 7 pounds.
KENNY FLORIAN: I walk around, in shape, at about 172.
2nolatch4: What is your day like the day before and the day of the fight. I met you briefly this weekend before your fight, and you seemed to be very relaxed and focused
KENNY FLORIAN: I pretty much won't leave my room. I just relax and eat. I like to watch a movie before a fight. I dont like to talk to anybody that's not on my team.
KENNY FLORIAN: It's about relaxing.
captobvious: Thanks for taking the time Kenny... what are your thoughts on BJ automatically getting a shot the ww title despite not having a win there in a long time? Do you think he should have a couple fights there first or defend the title at lw a couple times first?
KENNY FLORIAN: I would like to see both scenerios. I'd like to see a champion defend his belt, but at the same time, BJ and GSP is a blockbuster fight.
envious1320: Huge KenFlo fan... anyway I noticed that you were not wearing sprawls in your last fight instead tapouts... was this a one time or Is sprawl no longer sponsering you?
KENNY FLORIAN: Tapout is my new sponsor and they have given me great support and have been in the sport for a long time.
johnny_chimpo: Hey Kenny.. i'm sure you work with a lot of great fighters that help you prepare and train. Is there anybody we should keep on eye on that is coming out of your camp?
KENNY FLORIAN: This guy Muzzasar Abdurakmanov. World-class wrestler with good BJJ and he's improving his striknig. Mo Lawal as well.
guardpasser: Hey Kenny, great job implementing your gameplan for the W on Saturday. You've been training boxing with Peter Welch in Boston, how much of an impact has this had on your footwork specifically? Because in my opinion that made all the diference, Roger didn't have an answer for it. Thanks!
KENNY FLORIAN: Peter has been huge in developing my striking game. Tommy Conners as well who is Peter's partner in crime. They've helped tighten up my hands and footwork.
xbl: Kenny, congrats on the win. If you could pick one fighter outside of the UFC to fight who would it be?
KENNY FLORIAN: Takanori Gomi!
swedishpizza: Hi Ken, what would you do differently against sherk in a rematch?
KENNY FLORIAN: I would stay on my feet and if I was on my back, I would have some new tricks for him. I'm a lot more stronger and experienced.
Melillo08: Hey Kenny, against huerta you seemed to never want to get in and start brawling which wa perfect gameplan, do you see roger having future success in the sport and was he tough to train for?
KENNY FLORIAN: He wasn't that hard to train for. My brother Keith was a perfect Huerta and I brought in Kurt Pelligrino and my guys in Boston. I think he has a lot of potential.
cefferson: Kenny...im a big fan b/c even with your success you stay so humble..since your loss to sherk..you have been working on strength to help counter his..what is your take on BJ and his sheer strength as compared to Sherk and your strategy..you have great Jits and so does BJ..he is such a big LW..Do you feel like you have to be extra strong?
KENNY FLORIAN: I'm about the same size as BJ. BJ is well-rounded and to beat him, you have to be able to keep a fast pace for all 5 rounds.
shotime: Yo Kenny. I'm going into college soon, have any tips on training while in school?
KENNY FLORIAN: Just manage your time the best that you can. Don't eat too much college food. Balancing and managing your time. It's going to be tough, but you have to do what you love.
dst89: Kenny for me the most exciting weightclass to watch is 155 , but Im wondering for you what weight class if you favorite too watch other than your own that is.
KENNY FLORIAN: 155 definitely!
sericg5: Kenny, you've been described as a cerebral fighter, but during a fight, do you actually analyze the situation, or is it more about implementing a good game plan, training and instinct?
KENNY FLORIAN: It's both. It's going in there with a good gameplan, but you have to be able to adjust on the fly.
bling529: Kennaaaaaaay! With the Olympics on now, it got me thinking about amateur MMA. So what do you think of it and do you think it could ever be an Olympic event if done correctly?
KENNY FLORIAN: I think it can, but it has a long way to go though.
Surreal555: hey Kenny, im a huge fan. Now that BJ Penn is probably fighting GSP next, who would you like to fight in the coming months?
KENNY FLORIAN: The best fighter that the UFC can find. A fight that really makes sense.
titansatb: Mr. Florian what is your favorite fast food restaurant
KENNY FLORIAN: I haven't had fast food in a long time...Mexican Joint. Anywhere I can get a good burrito, but no Burger King or MacDonalds.
KENNY FLORIAN: Damn, I had to think about that one.
clarkent1: Hey!, in your expertise, who would win between fedor vs randy? and perhaps why.
KENNY FLORIAN: Right now, it's tough to say. I used to say that Randy had a chance at beating Fedor, but after watching what Fedor did to Sylvia, I'm not so sure.
gienvy: How do you deal with nerves before big fights- this one in particular? You always seem really compossed.
KENNY FLORIAN: Experience really helped me and doing a lot of meditation and relaxation.
ajturn: Hey Kenny from your 3 loses ,who would you like to fight the most??
KENNY FLORIAN: Sean Sherk!
jaskiejm: Who do you think can beat Anderson Silva and do you think the RedSox can pull a comeback
KENNY FLORIAN: Yes, I always think the Red Sox can pull off a comeback. I'm not so sure. The only guy I give a shot to is Dan Henderson and they've already fought, but he might be the only guy that can get it done.
CanadianDragon: I noticed you came out to playing with fire from tha carter 3 are you a big fan of rap/hip hop? and do you know where I can find the L.A.X. leak?
KENNY FLORIAN: I'm sure there are alot of places to find LAX leak, but I'm a huge fan of hip hop and The Game. Lil Wayne is the best rapper right now. I actually met Nas a week ago and I was like fanboy.
captobvious: Have you ever considered a umm... another nickname?
KENNY FLORIAN: Yeah man. I need a fight nickname. I need the fans to pick me a tough nickname. I had KenFlo since I was a kid from soccer. Maybe we can run a contest here on FightHype.com for my new nickname.
