As previously reported in July, world-renowned trainer Floyd Mayweather Sr. will indeed be training former jr. welterweight king Ricky Hatton for his upcoming clash with Paulie Malignaggi. "When I get my hands on him, he will use his head more and not get beat up. He will learn defense," Floyd Mayweather Sr. revealed to fans during a FightHype chat session back on July 22nd.
Mayweather Sr., who's currently preparing Joan Guzman for his September 13th fight with Nate Campbell, is expected fly out to Manchester later this month to oversee Hatton's training. "He wouldn't be the only fighter Hatton's age that got better with me. It's all in the individual and what they want to learn. Who wants to learn and who wants to get better? Ricky Hatton done finally got smart," Mayweather Sr. remarked.
