
Former two-division world champion Vernon Forrest was killed during an attempted carjacking on Saturday night. According to reports, after two men tried to steal his Jaguar at an Atlanta gas station, Forrest chased them down with his own gun, gunfire was exchanged and Forrest was fatally wounded by two semi-automatic weapons. No suspects have been found at this time.
With a record of 41-3, 29 KOs, the former welterweight and jr. middleweight champion will be remembered inside the ring for his victories over Shane Mosley, and outside the ring, he'll be remembered for his work with mentally and physically handicapped adults, giving them homes, work and support with his Destiny's Child program.
