"I felt like the timing was perfect, but I didn't put a lot on it. I was mainly focused on landing the shot, so I was surprised that it put him out cold because I really didn't put a lot on it…I would take that for sure. I think Dan would be a great fight. He is a big name and he's a top contender, but it's not up to me. I think it would be a great fight for sure," stated top UFC middleweight contender Nate Marquardt as he talked about his future plans after his impressive and devastating first round knockout of Demian Maia at UFC 102. Check out what he had to say about his performance, Anderson Silva and more.

PC: Congratulations on the huge knockout victory over Maia.

NM: Thanks!

PC: Before the fight, you said you weren't worried about his Jiu Jitsu. Did you feel you could keep this fight standing and eventually have the outcome that you gave us Saturday?

NM: Yeah. I thought I would be able to fight him on the ground and the feet, for sure.

PC: You said you had an ankle injury going into the fight. How bad was it and how did you sustain the injury?

NM: It wasn't too serious. I hurt it wrestling. It wasn't super serious. It was a high ankle sprain, along with a few other sprains, but it wasn't going to bother me for this fight.

PC: It sounds like you caught a little flu bug out there Nate?

NM: No, just allergies.

PC: You look like a completely different fighter from the Anderson Silva fight. Is it something you're doing different in training or are you just approaching these fights with a different mindset now?

NM: It's a little of both. I approach the fights differently than I have in the past and I've changed quite a bit technically.

PC: You could have easily pounced on him after the right hand. Did you not feel it was necessary and knew it was over?

NM: Yeah, pretty much. I could see that he was out, so I didn't feel it was necessary.

PC: When you landed that right hand, did you feel like you had put enough into that shot to KO him like that?

NM: No, not at all to be honest. I felt like the timing was perfect, but I didn't put a lot on it. I was mainly focused on landing the shot, so I was surprised that it put him out cold because I really didn't put a lot on it.

PC: A lot of people were looking forward to this fight as the best fight on the card. Were you surprised that the win came so easily?

NM: Not really. I was planning on having a war.

PC: You want Anderson next, but he has come out and said he wants a rest and would wait out a fight between you and Henderson. Is a Henderson fight something you would be willing to take to get to Silva?

NM: I would take that for sure. I think Dan would be a great fight. He is a big name and he's a top contender, but it's not up to me. I think it would be a great fight for sure.

PC: You said after the Maia fight that if the UFC wanted someone that can kick Anderson's butt, they should put you in against him. What would make a rematch different from the first fight?

NM: It's like you said before, I am a totally different fighter now. A lot of it has to do with my approach to a fight; my mentality. I'm definitely a better fighter now technically along with my mentality going into the fight; it's going to make it a completely different fight.

PC: I think you are a very dangerous fighter man. Congratulations on the win again. Is there anything you want to say in closing?
