PREFIGHT
The challenger, Rodel Mayol, comes out first to the sounds of "Boom Boom Pow" by the Black Eyed Peas. He looks confident and ready to fight as he waves a Filipino flag to the crowd. The champion, Ivan Calderon, comes out next. He looks calm, cool and relaxed as he dances his way to the ring.
ROUND 1
Both men come out looking to establish their jab. Mayol lands a right hand down the middle. Calderon looking to keep his distance. Left hook lands for Mayol, but he eats a right from Calderon. Left to the body lands for Calderon. Another. Calderon using all of the ring. Quick left lands for Calderon. 1-2 lands for Calderon and he dips away. Mayol lands a right. Jab and a hard left hand down the middle lands for Calderon. Not much to choose from in that round, but Calderon likely won it with that left hand. Round to Calderon.

Mayol lands a jab. Calderon ducks a 1-2 and holds on. Nice left hook lands for Mayol. 1-2 lands for Calderon and they tie up. A quick clash of heads. Calderon lands a jab. Mayol lands a nice right. Another clash of heads. Nice right hook lands for Calderon. Mayol lands a left. Right hand lands for Mayol. Calderon answers with a left. Another right hand lands for Mayol. Tough round to score. Calderon showing some good defense and a lot of movement, but I give it Mayol for landing the bigger shots.

Calderon slips about four punches from Mayol. A break in the action as Calderon landed a low blow. The action resumes. Nice right hand from Calderon snaps the head of Mayol. Wooooo....HARD left hand down the middle lands for Calderon. Round to Calderon.

Mayol looks a little frustrated by Calderon's movement as he comes out and presses the action more. Calderon continues to dip and slip punches. 1-2 lands for Mayol. Calderon lands a left. Right hand from Calderon snaps the head back of Mayol. They clinch. Right to the body lands for Mayol. Calderon continues to circle around the ring. Right to the body lands for Mayol. Another ugly round to score...Mayol is missing a lot and Calderon isn't throwing much. Round to Mayol just for pressing the action.

Mayol comes out fast again, but Calderon continues to dance and stay away. Nice left hand from Mayol catches Calderon upstairs. Counter right hand lands for Calderon. They clinch. Nice 1-2 lands for Calderon. Left to the body lands for Mayol. Nice uppercut lands for Calderon. Round to Calderon.

The doctor comes up to take a look at a cut on Calderon's head. It's a nasty cut. They're thinking about stopping it. That's it! They're stopping it. I scored that last round for Mayol.
