FIGHTING IN STYLE, COTTO EXPECTS TO HAVE ANOTHER ADVANTAGE THIS SATURDAY

According to the latest Ecko blog post by MMA Brand Manager Eric Samson, WBO welterweight champion Miguel Cotto expects to have yet another advantage over Manny Pacquiao on November 14th as he fights in style and comfort wearing specially designed trunks and a walkout tee created by Ecko Unltd. "It's all optimized in size for Cotto based on his input. We made special materials and if you take a close look at it, we are being really innovative. Cotto said that our boxing shorts, which of course we don't make available to the public, just for Cotto, but they are the most comfortable shorts that he's ever boxed in," he commented.

While it may sound trivial, having the correct and comfortable equipment is crucial for a fighter who doesn't need any other distractions inside the ring. One need only look at Arthur Abraham's wardrope malfunction against Jermain Taylor or Paulie Malignaggi's struggles to keep his shorts up against Juan Diaz for recent examples of how of the wrong equipment could come into play throughout the course of a fight. Fortunately for Cotto, that's one less problem that he'll have to deal with. "We made them fit exactly for him. These are made from a material that has never before been used on boxing shorts, so he will be able to move pretty comfortably. He won't feel the sweat running down and it's not that shiny material that sticks to you and rubs your skin. He won't have any of that to deal with. He will be extremely comfortable," Samson added.
