According to world-renowned trainer Freddie Roach, pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao has informed him that he will arrive in California next week to begin training for his next bout. The question is who will the next opponent be? Steve Kim of Maxboxing.com revealed the news in his latest blog post.
As it stands right now, it's highly unlikely that it will be Floyd Mayweather Jr. standing across the ring from Pacquiao come March 13th. Instead, Pacquiao's promoter, Bob Arum, is now targeting fellow stablemate and newly-crowned WBA Jr. Middleweight champion Yuri Foreman. It's also unclear as to exactly when and where that bout will take place. "Our preference if we go to Foreman would still be to fight March 13 at the MGM, but if there were another event on that night, we could go to March 20 at the Thomas & Mack," Arum would tell Kevin Iole of Yahoo! Sports.
