Cuban sensation Yuriorkis Gamboa (17-0, 15 KOs) kept his undefeated record intact with an impressive 2nd round stoppage of Rogers Mtagwa (26-14-2, 18 KOs) moments ago at Madison Square Garden in New York. Mtagwa was never in the fight as the faster and much more powerful Gamboa unloaded a barrage of power punches throughout the course of the fight. Compared to Lopez's bout with Mtagwa, Gamboa made it look easy, dropping him 3 times en route to the victory.
ROUND 1
Mtagwa fires out a quick jab that falls short. Gamboa lands a hard left hook to the body. BIG left hook upstairs lands for Gamboa. Another left and a right lands for Gamboa. Now a right and a BIG left hand upstairs lands for Gamboa and Mtagwa wobbles momentarily. They trade. Wooooo...Gamboa landing some big shots that are knocking Mtagwa around. Wow...nice quick left hook from Gamboa lands upstairs and he smiles and walks away. All Gamboa right now, who's clearly faster and landing big shots. HUGE counter left hook lands for Gamboa and Mtagwa is down. He's up and takes the count. End of round. Big round for Gamboa.

Mtagwa flicks out his jab and sneaks in a right. Another left hand lands for Gamboa followed by a right. Now Gamboa unloads on him. Another left and a right lands for Gamboa. Another right. Mtagwa holds on. Chopping right hand lands for Gamboa. Another left and a right lands for Gamboa. WOOOOOO....HUGE left hook and a right lands for Gamboa. Another right lands for Gamboa. Quick five-punch combo lands for Gamboa and Mtagwa is down again. Wow. This fight ain't lasting much longer. WOOOOOO....BIG left hook lands for Gamboa....another. Mtagwa just covers up. Another left hook from Gamboa blasts Mtagwa. Gamboa lands a right and Mtagwa crumples to the canvas. That's it. It's over. The ref stops the bout. Wow!
