PAUL DALEY: "KOSCHECK, IF HE HAS ANY SENSE, WILL NOT STAND AND TRADE WITH ME"By Percy Crawford | January 26, 2010

| "Koscheck, if he has any sense, will not stand and trade with me. He will get knocked out or his blonde fraggle top [hair] will turn a shade of red quickly, before the ref drags me off him…I ain't gonna get into a lot of verbal with him. He will be the only one in that battle. The war is in the cage and that I will win for sure," stated UFC welterweight contender Paul Daley as he talked about his upcoming clash with Josh Koscheck at UFC 113. Check it out!
PC: Congratulations on the big knockout win over Hazelett.
PD: Thanks, much appreciated!
PC: You dealt with a lot for that camp with the gym burning down and things of that nature. How were you able to put it all behind you and look spectacular?
PD: I have to thank Melvin Manhoef for helping bring the Dutch part of camp together in the wake of the Mikes Gym fire.
PC: You told me you were shocked that Hazelett didn't go immediately for a takedown attempt. Do you think anyone that stands with you will get knocked out?
PD: For sure! My track record speaks for itself.
PC: Being that you expected Dustin to shoot in on you, what was your gameplan going into that fight?
PD: I didn't expect him to shoot. I thought he would come in and clinch. We had a gamplan for this, but as I didn't use it, there is no point in talking about this.
PC: Moving forward to UFC 113, you will be fighting Josh Koscheck. What do you think of him as a fighter?
PD: He is a great fighter; awesome wrestling and heavy hands!
PC: Koscheck is a guy that has his wrestling in his back pocket, but he has been willing to trade punches lately as well. Do you think he will roll the dice against you and try to bang?
PD: Koscheck, if he has any sense, will not stand and trade with me. He will get knocked out or his blonde fraggle top [hair] will turn a shade of red quickly, before the ref drags me off him!
PC: Koscheck doesn't back down from verbal warfare either. Are you prepared for that?
PD: I ain't gonna get into a lot of verbal with him. He will be the only one in that battle. The war is in the cage and that I will win for sure.
PC: A win over Koscheck could line you up for a title shot. Is that what you are hoping for?
PD: Not really. I want a few more fights, maybe two after smashing Koscheck, then a title shot, but only if Dan is not the Champion, as I will not fight my pal.
PC: I know you had some flight delays and that's one of the things that led to you coming in a pound over. Are you thinking about possibly training in the States when you have a fight coming up?
PD: No! I have a good routine in the UK and Holland. My weight is my responsibility whereever I train. I am going to focus a lot more on diet and nutrition for the Koscheck fight; make sure my weight comes down nice.
PC: Good luck in your preparation for Koscheck and as always, I look forward to your fight. Is there anything you want to say in closing?
PD: Down at Fraggle Rock (singing and then laughing). Nah, nothing really. Just looking forward to the fight really. Can't wait! Check out www.semtex.tv and www.Ultimate-gladiators.com.
