On March 6, former super featherweight champion Steve "2 Pounds" Forbes makes his return to the stacked jr. welterweight division. "It's looking like I will be facing Gavin Rees in a 12-rounder at 140lbs. on March 6th in support of the Alexander-Urango Championship Unification fight, at the Mohegan Sun Casino in Uncasville, Connecticut," stated Forbes, who contacted FightHype early Thursday morning to break the news. "I just finished signing for the fight."
Gavin Rees is a former WBA jr. welterweight world champion with a record of 31 wins and 1 loss, 14 wins coming by way of knockout. Although a top 10 domestic jr. welterweight in the UK, the Enzo Calzaghe trained Rees remains largely untested on the world level. Steve "2 Pounds" Forbes intends to welcome him to America on March 6th.
