thehype: FightHype would like to welcome King Mo to tonight's chat session

KING MO: What's up FightHype?

MacHammer: Wats up Mo, how you feel fighting for a title so quickly?

KING MO: Titles don't mean nothing. It's the win that means something. No pressure at all. A fight is a fight. I just care about getting the W!

BillyMix: Whaddup Mo? I know you train with a lot of different guys, but who, primarily, are you working with now.

KING MO: Fabricio Werdum, Nog...I train with the same people, but I got Gono and CR coming into town. I'm going to try to train with Kenny Florian next week. I just like to keep fresh people. I go to ATT.

DLovely: Sup Mo. What did you think about the Couture-Coleman fight?

KING MO: Coleman came out too stiff and didn't stay true to his style.

GaryGoody: I know you're not fighting in the UFC, but if you had your pick of any of those guys, who would you want to make your debut against?

KING MO: It don't matter to me; it's whoever. I don't care. I don't ever pick my opponent unless I had beef with them. Other than that, I would let the UFC pick 'em.

LenDisciple: Did you look up to any fighters before you started fighting yourself?

KING MO: Yeah! Kevin Jackson, Mark Coleman and just the wrestlers because at that time, I started wrestling right when the UFC picked up. I started wrestling in '96 or '97.

EKnock: How did you first get into the sport? Like, what made you decide this was what you wanted to do and how did you go about making it happen?

KING MO: I always liked to fight. I liked fighting growing up and it was like I wanted to do it. I liked boxing as well. I made it happen by being sucessful in wrestling and then the phone calls started coming in.

HaydelHam: In boxing, a lot of time, you hear about intense gym wars that happen while sparring. Does that kind of stuff go on in MMA and if so, have you ever seen any good gym wars while training?

KING MO: Those type of gym wars happen all the time, but they stupid because it shortens their career. The best gym war I've ever seen was Hector Lombard beat up some kid. It was worse than James Toney and Danny Green.

zaromskis: Hey Mo, you're one of my favs. I was wondering what you are working on with Werdum, as far as particular BJJ stuff against Mousasi. Also, I wanted to get your take on other big Wrestling names like Cormier and Davis and Konrad coming into the fight game.

KING MO: As far as Mousasi, I'm not training on nothing in particular for him. I'm working on everything though. Not anything in particular for Mousasi. I think Cormier's style will translate the best because he has the highest pedigree, but I think he will have a hard time getting fights.

MacHammer: what you mean by pedigree

KING MO: He's the most accomplished.

KING MO: Daniel beat me 4 times, but it's a competition. I have beaten guys that beat him.

KING MO: If it wasn't for me, he probably would have never placed because I was the only one that pushed him.

dhsfh: Jacare couldn't pass Mousasi's guard, how do you plan on doing so?

KING MO: Jacre did pass Mousiasi's guard. He got up kicked. I'm not worried about passing his guard. I'm not Jacre. I'm not worried about anything. If the fight gets made, I just fight!

wiz1010: no Q - shout out to the King - Your a champion MO!

KING MO: Thanks Wiz!

MacHammer: Whats the craziest sub you ever pulled off?

KING MO: I worry about punches!

KING MO: LOL

dhsfh: Do you think you would have made in this sport so quick if you started out in smaller shows? Sengoku isn't the biggest, but its definitely bigger than some of these young guys start out in.

KING MO: It wouldn't make a difference because I would have still been beating everybody.

BillyMix: Are there any fighters out there that you, maybe don't have beef with, but aren't particularly fond of the way they represent themselves or the sport? Basically, is there anyone out there that you think just needs a good punch in the face?

KING MO: Nah because people say the same thing about me. I don't really have a beef with nobody.

dhsfh: When you gonna fight in Japan again? It seems like they liked you over there.

KING MO: I don't know yet. I would love to fight in Japan hopefully sometime this year.

MMAInsight: What up King Mo What are your thoughts on Frank Edgar vs. B.J. Penn match up while I think Penn won't lose at 155, I think Edgar's boxing is pretty sound, also what you think of Ortiz vs. Liddell 3, Keep doin your thang bro TEAM GDP!!!

KING MO: I think it's a good matchup. I dont think Frankie gets enough credit, but I think BJ will beat him and move up to 170; that's what I heard at least. But I think it will be a good fight.

KING MO: If Liddell is healthy, it should be a good fight.

DLovely: Who do you think is the most underrated fighter out there and the most overrated fighter?

KING MO: I have no idea. Anybody can shine and anybody can have a bad day. I think the overrated term is used too much in MMA. Chael Sonnen has always been good, but he just found his groove. I think both terms are over used.

GaryGoody: Who do you like a fight between Rashad and Rampage? Who do you think has better standup?

KING MO: I think Rashad will beat Rampage off of athleticism, hunger, more tools and a better gameplan. I think Rashad also has better stand up.

dhsfh: Speaking of Rampage, would you like to fight with Rampage? I saw you guys getting into verbally on youtube. Shit looked like it was about to go down.

KING MO: Yeah, if he signs with Strikeforce, we can make that happen.

zaromskis: Ok, I was wondering how long it would take you to prepare for a fight with Fedor, and how you'd rate his wreslting and TDD.

KING MO: It would take me just as long as it will take me anybody else. Fedor ain't special. He's a good fighter, but he ain't God. He has okay TDD and wrestling. He moves good and he has good power.

thehype: FightHype would like to thank King Mo for taking time out to chat with us tonight.

KING MO: See you guys next Monday. Be good FightHype!

FIGHTHYPE FAN PHONE CALL

zaromskis: Hey guys.

zaromskis: Just got off the phone with King Mo. Here are some excerpts.

zaromskis: Question...So which style of wrestling would you say has best translated into MMA, as far as Greco Roman vs. Freestyle? What strengths do each of them bring in your opinion?

zaromskis: Answer...Depends on the type of fighter. If you're athletic, freestyle. You've got different levels of attack. Less athletic, Greco. You can pummel, destroy them. Sonnen was good at both, people don't know that. Same thing with Matt Lindland; he started out with Freestyle then went Greco. Randy uses Greco to smother his opponents.

zaromskis: Question...He did give you the nod on the wrestling advantage that you have over him, but said that's the only advantage you'll have in the fight. Do you agree with this, and what advantages would you give to Mousasi in the fight?

zaromskis: Answer...I just said that because of his fight with Soku. I don't care, he can say whatever he wants. He's training with GSP and Jackson, so he's got that going for him. He says he's gonna take me down, though? He's just talking. He's gonna have a tough ass time with me.

zaromskis: Question...You've given a lot of cred to your friend Cormier on his wrestling pedigree, but we didn't see much of his wrestling in his Challenger's fight. Why was this? Was he trying to rack up experience in the striking department?

zaromskis: Answer...That's the problem with wrestlers. We have to get good with strikes. He was trying to use strikes, but he can wrestle with anybody. He was trying to get the knockout. If he gets hurt, he'll switch, but why go there if you don't have to?

zaromskis: Question...You've trained with Big Nog and Werdum. Tell me what you've learned from both of these guys.

zaromskis: Answer...Fabricio has a higher jiu jitsu pedigree. I know for a fact he does. He submitted me. Nog is good, but he didn't submit me. Look at the competitions Fabricio has been in. He's competing against the top level guys and he's got more tools on the ground.

zaromskis: Question...A lot of people refer to you as a Rampage-esque fighter, where if Rampage had an offspring that was more evolved, you'd be it. How do you like this comparison and what are the biggest differences between you and Rampage?

zaromskis: Answer...He's the MMA George Foreman. Not that fast, but damn strong and heavy-handed. I have more tools, I'm a better wrestler, I know I'm stronger. You can ask Jr. Dos Santos when we sparred, you can ask people we've rolled with, you can ask people I've wrestled with. He is good at wrestling, but I've got more experience.

zaromskis: Question...How do you think the fight will go between Alistair and Fedor?

zaromskis: Answer...I think Fedor is slipping and I think Alistair can beat him. If Rogers had knees, it would have been over. If you have jabs and head movement, you can take Fedor. Fedor uses a lot of the same combos, and if you can anticipate them and keep him at bay, then you can win the fight.
