"We're all set to go. There's excitement in Dallas. We have less than 8,000 tickets left to go and I am truly, truly confident that we'll have a sellout the week of the fight," stated promoter Bob Arum as he spoke to the media during a conference call earlier today about the upcoming March 13th welterweight showdown between Manny Pacquiao and Joshua Clottey. Check out what else he had to say about Pacquiao, Floyd Mayweather and much more.
On ticket sales...
We're all set to go. There's excitement in Dallas. We have less than 8,000 tickets left to go and I am truly, truly confident that we'll have a sellout the week of the fight.
On Floyd Mayweather...
We'll knock him out in the court also because that lawsuit continues on and justice will prevail.
Mayweather against Manny is a no contest. Manny would wipe the ring with Floyd Mayweather!
On Pacquiao's legacy should he retire...
As far as I'm concerned, he's the best fighter I've ever seen. Other people may agree, may not agree, but he would go down as the greatest fighter I've ever seen if he decided to retire after the Clottey fight. I would hope that he wins the election and I would give him a big party to commemorate his career over here in the United States. If he continues fighting and decides to retire along the way, then I would still give him a big party to commemorate his retirement. But I said this to the press after his fight with Cotto, to me, he's the best fighter that I've ever seen. Now you have to understand, I'm an old guy. I never saw Marciano or Robinson fight in person and I can't tell very much from watching the films, but that includes fighters like Sugar Ray Leonard, Muhammad Ali, Hagler; he's the best fighter I've ever seen.
