Fighthype.com was on hand at today's press conference to announce the return of Antonio Margarito after his year long suspension from the sport. Although Bob Arum has mentioned the possibility of a future clash between Manny Pacquiao and Margarito, assuming he does get by Roberto Garcia on May 8, the legendary promoter made it clear what the priority is when it comes to Pacquiao's next bout. "I think if he wins [the congressional elections], then Manny wouldn't fight in September. He would fight in November, no question," Arum commented. "And our first priority would always be a Mayweather fight, but Mayweather would have to stop the nonsense."
Of course, the "nonsense" which Arum is referring to is Mayweather's demand that Manny Pacquiao submit himself to random blood-testing leading up to the proposed bout. It's an issue that not only caused the collapse of the biggest bout in boxing, but also enraged Pacquiao to the point where he filed a defamation lawsuit against Mayweather. Some have speculated that the lawsuit was merely a negotiation ploy to try and scare Mayweather into dropping his request. In fact, on a recent appearance on the Jim Rome Show, Pacquiao's own trainer, Freddie Roach, hinted that the mega-fight could easily be made if the two sides can come to an agreement that Pacquiao would drop the lawsuit if and only if Mayweather would drop his demands for random blood testing. When asked if there was any truth to what Roach stated, Arum simply replied, "That was absolutely Freddie Roach talking out of his ass!"
