Shane Mosley isn't quite ready to call it a career quite yet, even though he should've put some serious consideration into the thought following the beatdown he received from Floyd Mayweather Jr. last month. The three-division champion is eyeing a September return and the two most likely opponents are former Jr. Middleweight champion Sergio Mora and current Middleweight king Sergio Martinez, who said he'd be willing to go as low as 155 and give Mosley the lion's share of the purse. Knowing Mosley's behavior in the past, I'm expecting him to attempt to wrest the Middleweight title from Martinez since it will provide him a bigger challenge. Either guy, however, is a nightmare matchup for him.
Zab Judah Really Is Fighting Next Month, Seriously!
Like a durable cockroach, former undisputed Welterweight champion Zab Judah is returning to the ring next month against Lightweight contender Jose Armando Santa Cruz at a maximum weight limit of 142 pounds. Judah is trying to get back into making moneyÂ…errrÂ…championship contention at a more intriguing division. Although Judah has never been a big guy at 147, he hasn't made 140 in over six years, which is also about the timeframe since he's been a relevant fighter. Considering how good this Junior Welterweight class is right now, I don't see Judah making anything but loud noise.
Klitschko Goes All In For Valuev
It was recently reported that former champion Nikolai Valuev was willing to accept the $2.5 million offer Vitali Klitschko gave him a few months back. The problem is that Valuev walked on the deal and the Klitschko team is not ready to offer him a bigger payday. Klitschko is standing firm on a $1.5 million check for Valuev, who honestly has no choice but to accept seeing that he defaulted on his rematch clause with WBA champion David Haye. Of course, considering that this is a Don King fighter, I wouldn't put it past Valuev to demand more money. With Haye-Harrison coming this November and with a relatively good chance that V.Klitschko-Valuev is happening as well, can we just not care about Heavyweights ever?
