"I'm right here. I'm right here. There's no hiding, there's no running, there's no...I'm right here. I'm waiting for him. Our first fight, everybody saw what happened and I'm right here. I mean, that's what boxing wants; that's what boxing needs and, you know, he needs a fighter that can beat him and I'm right here waiting for him, so whenever he's ready to knock on my door, I'll be right here," stated lightweight king Juan Manuel Marquez as he continued his campaign for a third fight with pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao after his impressive win over Juan Diaz. Check out what else he had to say during the post-fight press conference.
SOME HIGHLIGHTS FROM THE PRESS CONFERENCE:
On his future plans...
It's up to my promoter. Obviously, my priority right now and always has been Manny Pacquiao. It's always been. There's no ifs or buts, I want to fight Manny Pacquiao, but I might have to defend my titles and we have to respect the fact that Michael Katsidis is the #1 challenger to fight for my title, so obviously if the Pacquiao fight doesn't happen, then I have to defend my titles with honors and that's what I'll do.
On what weight he would be willing to face Pacquiao at...
I'll fight Pacquiao between 140 pounds, 142, 143, I'll fight Pacquiao no problem.
More on his future plans...
Everything is possible. I have to look at my mandatories, I have to look at the Pacquiao situation, I have to look at making history, being the first Mexican champion to win four divisions, but right now, first thing is first, I want to take it easy, put some ice on my face and enjoy the victory.
