KLITSCHKO BEATS PETER DOWN AND KNOCKS HIM OUT IN 10

Moments ago, IBF, WBO & IBO heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko easily defended his titles, defeating challenger Sam Peter for the second time via 10th round technical knockout. This time around, the roles were reversed as Peter stepped into the ring looking a little nervous while Klitschko exuded confidence and determination from the moment he left his locker room. Using little more than a stiff jab, a strong right hand, and some occassional left hooks and right uppercuts, Klitschko controlled the distance and the action as he easily outboxed and beat down a confused Peter. Relive all the action in FightHype's round-by-round results.

PREFIGHT
Peter looks either eager to get it on or eager to get it over with, but either way, he looks ready to go as he makes the long walk to the ring. A pretty cool video plays of Wladimir Klitscko interacting with a young Muhammad Ali, kind of like the movie Forrest Gump. An extremely confident looking Wladimir emerges from his dressing room and makes his way to the ring. Peter paces back and forth in his corner as he waits for Michael Buffer to announce them.

ROUND 1
Klitschko immediately starts off firing his jab. Peter bobs and weaves his way inside, but Klitschko ties him up. Both men just measuring with their jabs. Right hand lands for Klitschko and they clinch. Peter starting to reach with his jab. Another right hand lands for Klitschko. Peter leaps in with a sloppy 1-2 that's blocked. Wooooooo....HARD right hand lands for Klitschko and Peter holds on. Peter misses with a wild left hook. Easy round for Klitschko.

Klitschko 10 Peter 9

ROUND 2
Peter lands a nice left to the body. Klitschko measures him with his jab. Hard 1-2 lands for Klitschko. Another right hand lands for Klitschko. Again...right hand and clinch for Klitschko. Peter already taking a deep breath. Right hand lands for Klitschko again. Again, right hand lands for Klitschko and Peter wobbles. I'll be shocked if this fight goes the distance. Another right hand lands for Klitschko. Peter misses with another wild left hook. He looks frustrated. 1-2 lands for Klitschko with ease and he steps out of harm's way. Man, Peter is looking like an amateur in there. Another wild left hook misses for Peter. And another. Easy round for Klitschko.

Klitschko 20 Peter 18

ROUND 3

Peter puts his head down and tries to bull his way in. Peter lands a left to the body, but he's reaching pretty bad for it. If Klitschko actually ever bothered to throw an uppercut, he could probably knock Peter out. Klitschko just fires his 1-2, ties him up on the inside and steps out of harm's way on the outside. Peter just letting him do it too. Peter already looking sloppy and winded. This is a little boring so far. Neither man really engaging. Klitschkko just circling away from Peter's left hook; Peter looking spent...if you're still reading this, you might have already wasted too much time on this fight, as this one is looking pretty predictable. That being said, I type on...

Klitschko 30 Peter 27

ROUND 4
Klitschko lands a right and they clinch, Peter moreso than Klitschko. Another right hand lands for Klitschko. Don't be surprised if Peter just quits again. HARD left hook lands for Klitschko and Peter wobbles momentarily again. Right hand lands for Klitschko and he holds on. Peter lands a couple of body shots, but not much on them. The ref implores both fighters, "let's work!" Both men just hugging on each other on the inside. This is ugly. Peter tries to land another Joe Frazier left hook. End of round. Round to Klitschko, but honestly, nether one of them deserved the round.

Klitschko 40 Peter 36

ROUND 5
Klitschko trying to look a little more lively by bouncing on his toes, but it's more of the same...right hand, clinch, 1-2, clinch. Peter now trying to do his best Mike Tyson impersonation as he slowly bobs and weaves under Klitschko's punches. 1-2 lands for Peter. Right hand lands for Klitschko. Peter still trying to bob and weave his way in, only to be tied up. Klitschko actually missing with quite a few punches now. Maybe Peter can get something going and surprise him with an explosion. Peter digs a right to the body. Round to Klitschko. Maybe...just maybe something will happen, so like the boxing junkie I am, I'll watch on.

Klitschko 50 Peter 45

ROUND 6
Right to the body lands for Peter. Klitschko tries to keep his distance behind the jab. Another right to the body lands for Peter. Left hook to the body lands for Peter. Some life for Peter now. Klitschko misses with a 1-2 and holds on. A rare uppercut lands for Klitschko. Another. Peter lands a looping overhand right. Another uppercut lands for Klitschko and Peter holds on. It looks like Klitschko has adjusted, while Peter has gotten frustrated again. Wooooooo...another nasty right uppercut lands for Klitschko. I'm glad he started listening to me. Round to Klitschko.

Klitschko 60 Peter 54

ROUND 7
Two short left hooks land for Klitschko to start the round. Right hand lands for Klitschko. Peter holds on. 1-2 lands for Klitschko and he ties Peter up. Peter lunges in with a left hook that's blocked. Peter holds on again. Right hand lands for Klitschko, who's dancing around the ring on his toes again. Another right hand lands for Klitschko. Again. Peter looks like he's thinking about quiting. Klitschko peppers him with a quick combination. Round to Klitschko.

Klitschko 70 Peter 63

ROUND 8
Peter's corner tells him that they're going to stop it if he doesn't let his hands go. Sam Peter looked a little upset that his corner didn't already stop it. Jab, right hand and a clinch from Klitschko. Peter gets inside and ties up too. Short left hook lands for Klitschko. Another left hook lands for Klitschko. Jab and a left hook lands for Klitschko. 1-2 lands for Klitschko. Hard left hook lands for Klitschko and Peter holds on. 1-2 lands for Klitschko. Round to Klitschko.

Klitschko 80 Peter 72

ROUND 9
Once again, Peter's corner had to ask him if he wanted the fight to continue. Peter comes out a little more inspired and throws some wild punches, but most of it was blocked. Short left hook lands for Klitschko and Peter holds on. Referee Robert Byrd again has to tell Peter that his hands are free and to punch. Now Klitscho being told not to hold. Both men doing a lot more holding than fighting. 1-2 lands for Klitschko. Round to Klitschko.

Klitschko 90 Peter 81

ROUND 10

Emanuel Steward is imploring Klitschko to finish the fight. Klitschko comes out far more agressive this round as he unloads a flurry of punches on Peter. Peter just covering up and ducking his head to avoid the punches. WILD left hook from Peter misses. HARD left hook lands for Klitschko and Peter is rocked. Klitsckho looking to finish him. Peter wobbles and flails around the ring. Klitschko lets his hands go and lands a devastating uppercut that drops Peter. That's it. It's over. Peter is out flat on his back. The referee calls a halt to the destruction. Man, if only Klitschko would fight in the beginning of his fight like he does at the end of them, he'd be a lot more exciting to watch.
