"Cocaine is a hell of a drug," the late rhythm-and-rock pioneer Rick James once said. Evidently, elite British boxers agree with him. Just months after undefeated former champion Joe Calzaghe admitted to the recreational use of the drug during an undercover investigation by a tabloid newspaper, former jr. welterweight king Ricky Hatton was actually caught on video snorting at least 7 lines of cocaine.
According to a News Of The World report, the video was taken two weeks ago in a Manchester hotel room, shortly after Hatton had a "booze binge" while hanging out with a "female friend." Reportedly, Hatton was on a "10-hour bender" that included 11 pints of Guinness, 4 vodka shots, two glasses of wine and several Sambucas on top of the 7 lines of cocaine. The video was apparently obtained from friend and fellow fighter Emma Bowe, who stated, "If he carries on, he'll kill himself. I'm really, really worried for him."
There has yet to be any comment from Hatton, however, it looks like he's not the only boxer making some questionable decisions these days.
