"Freddie Roach told me to my face, 'I don't think Pacquiao can beat Shane.' So when I hear all this talk about 'Pacquiao will finish Mosley,' I don't believe he's expressing his true feelings. He sounds like a businessman who wants to make sure his investment doesn't lose. I think tactics like this validate statements about Pacquiao not fighting black fighters, only hand-picked opponents by handlers," said Hassan AbdulRahim Jr., camp coordinator and second assistant of Shane Mosley, as he responded to recent comments made by world-class trainer Freddie Roach regarding a potential clash with Manny Pacquiao. Obviously, AbdulRahim Jr. took offense to Roach's suggestion that Pacquiao would handle Mosley just as easily as he took care of Margartio.
"Do not downplay the accomplishments of Sugar Shane Mosley just because he lost a fight. Sugar Shane Mosley is one of the few true faces of boxing. He is the fighter that gives the fans a bang for their buck. I challenge Roach to come clean with his feelings about Pacquiao fighting Sugar Shane Mosley. Roach, you should endorse the fight with Sugar Shane and Pacquiao and stop covering up your true feelings to protect your investment," he added.
