IF MOSLEY DEFEATED PACQUIAO, WHO WOULD BE MORE UPSET?

With all the talk about Shane Mosley fighting Manny Pacquiao, the initial rumblings you hear from fans are tha Pacquiao will be the first to stop the three-division world champion. Yes, Pacquiao has beaten up and KO'd quite a few bigger guys, but let's not forget that Mosley has done the same thing. It is true you are judged by your last performance, and for Mosley, his was not a good showing. However, although he may down, we should not count Mosley out [] and his last two performances may have been just what he needed in order to shock the world should Pacquiao take him lightly. If Mosley wins, who would be the most upset? Let's take a look.

Bob Arum and Top Rank would no doubt be upset, having let their "golden child" Pacquiao lose to a fighter not signed with the promotional company. If Mosley were to win, Pacquiao wouldn't look so phenomenal all of a sudden, and he would be criticized for losing to an older fighter who struggled in his last two fights. Bernard Hopkins would echo his belief that Pacquiao can't beat an African-American fighter and on top of that, the super-fight everyone wants right now, Mayweather vs. Pacquiao, would absolutely be dead and all the potential revenue from it would go down the drain. Not to mention, given the manner in which Mayweather thoroughly dominated Mosley, critics would say that Pacquiao never stood a chance with him.

Floyd Mayweather, whether he admits it or not, would also be extremely upset because the possibility to earn $60 million or more would now be gone. What would have been the most profitable fight in boxing history would now become a fight that should have happened, but never did. Although Mayweather is a big name, it's still a question of who does he fight next in order to generate the type of revenue he's grown accustomed to. While he could do a rematch with Mosley, it still wouldn't generate the same type of money as a fight with Pacquiao, especially since there's no real desire to see a rematch in the first place after Mayweather won nearly every round with ease in their first fight.

Hands down though, Oscar De La Hoya, Richard Schaefer and Golden Boy Promotions in general would be the most upset simply because they would not be a part of the promotion, thus missing out on the profits from another lucrative PPV event. Their ongoing feud with Top Rank hinders their ability to match their fighters with Top Rank fighters, particularly Manny Pacquiao, so they were unable to secure the bout for Mosley, who ended up doing it on his own.  If Mosley were to beat Pacquiao, it would be a smack in the face to Golden Boy Promotions, proving that he was able to get the fight, and the shocking upset victory, without them being involved. It would also be a strong indication that perhaps it was Golden Boy all along that was holding Mosley back from securing the mega-fights he's been looking for. It would be an even bigger smack in the face to Oscar De La Hoya in particular, beating the guy that made him quit on the stool and ultimately retire.

Of course, for every pissed off person, there is always someone who is full of joy. Besides Shane Mosley, that other person would be Jin Mosley, the ex-wife of the three-division world champion. A victory for Shane Mosley would mean an increase in salary as bigger paydays, like an immediate rematch, would soon follow and I'm sure a lady like Jin will absolutely ask for an increase in her alimony and child support payments.

Sorry Shane, but not every win is a win for everyone. That's boxing and that's life!
