As is customary in any bout featuring the wild and unpredictable Ricardo "El Matador" Mayorga, tension was in the air as both he and WBA jr. middleweight champion Miguel Cotto showed up at today's weigh-in moments ago. Both men weighed in at 154 pounds, but it was a fit and trim looking Mayorga who looked animated and eager to get the fight started already. Shortly after both fighters weighed in, they were set to face off for the photographers and fans in attendance, but Cotto appeared to be reluctant to get anywhere close to the Nicaraguan slugger.
Mayorga taunted the Puerto Rican superstar as he put his clothes back on after the weigh-in, whistling at him and pounding on his chest, demanding that Cotto face off with him. Cotto, however, would not oblige and simply waved to the crowd before walking off the stage. "I'm going to knock him out because he's a coward. Look at him walk away," Mayorga would tell the fans in attendance. Don't miss all the action tomorrow night as both fighters step into the ring at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada and televised live on Showtime Pay-Per-View.
