"Pacquiao doesn't hit that hard. He throws a lot of punches, but he doesn't hit that hard. Gamboa hits very hard," stated featherweight contender Jorge Solis, who moments ago was completely dominated and destroyed by WBA featherweight champion Yuriorkis Gamboa. Down five times in four rounds, Solis was dropped twice in round 2, once in round 3 and two more times in round 4 before the referee called a halt to the action. The dominated performance prompted Solis to compare Gamboa to pound-for-pound champion Manny Pacquiao, who knocked him in eight rounds over four years ago.
Future Hall of Famer and HBO commentator Roy Jones Jr. would also comment, "It was very impressive tonight to hear Solis say that Gamboa punches harder than Pacquiao. That's saying an awful lot for this guy. He's only 20 fights in and he's already punching harder than Pacquiao as a featherweight? That can be pretty tough for the division."
