Oscar De La Hoya is on hand and informs us that over 56,000 fans are in attendance. He also gives an update on his rematch with Floyd Mayweather Jr. He says the fight isn't signed yet, but he guarantees, "I will beat him. With Floyd Sr. in my corner...I will get him." Lazcano enters first wearing a bright red sombrero. He looks calm, cool and collected. Hatton enters next and the crowd erupts with excitement. They all start singing a song and chanting his name. Pretty amazing to see that kind of following...even after his knockout loss to Mayweather. The sounds of Blue Moon begin and Hatton appears wearing a fat suit. Hilarious. Not quite as packed as I expected, but it's still early. The champion, Paulie Malignaggi, is sportin some kind of ponytail with his hair braided up. Odd look, but not a suprising one from the flashy Malignaggi. The challenger, Lovemore N'dou, enters first to the sounds of Roy Jones Jr. "Can't be touched, can't be stopped, can't be moved, can't be rocked, can't be shook, we hot..." He looks confident. The champion enters next with a crazy looking teal mask on sportin' the look of a lucha libre. The crowd boos. Malignaggi plays it up as he dances his way to the ring. A loud cheer for N'dou as he's announced. A chorus of boos rain down for Malignaggi as he's announced. Malignaggi smiles.
