Earlier today, at ExCel Arena in London, England, undefeated heavyweight contender Tyson Fury defeated Dereck Chisora for the second time, stopping him in the 10th round of a lopsided affair. Fury controlled the action behind his jab, picking his shots carefully throughout the fight while landing a couple of flurries against the ropes. It didn't take long for fans to express their frustration with the lack of action following the build-up to the event. The relentless pressure promised by Chisora only came in spurts, allowing Fury to easily win round after round while avoiding an occasional overhand right hand that had little to no effect. By the 7th round, Fury was landing just about every punch he threw and from there, the beating only got worse. Following a 10th round that saw Fury batter his opponent from pillar to post, the corner of Chisora had seen enough and called a halt to the fight.
BILLY JOE SAUNDERS DEFEATS CHRIS EUBANK JR. VIA SPLIT DECISION
Billy Joe Saunders racked up an early lead in the fight, beating Eubank to the punch using his slick movement in the center of the ring. It took Eubank some time to get going, but he eventually found his timing and range by the 5th round, getting the better of the inside exchanges behind a right uppercut that allowed him to begin controlloing the pace. Saunders, however, still had his moments, landing some good counterpunches while making Eubank miss and swing wildly at times. It was a back-and-forth war that came down to the wire, but in the end, the judges gave the nod to Saunders with scores of 115-113 (Saunders), 115-113 (Eubank), and 115-113 (Saunders).
